Re: Your Oblivion Experience
i liked it too, but it wasnt very challenging. the AI kept pace with your level so you just had to wait a bit to get some great armor and weapons - finding em was not an issue - everyone had the good stuff.
I quit cause i encountered a glitch and couldnt get past it. A spell that was required to be cast on a column was only self cast. but it was distracting and fun. |

Re: Your Oblivion Experience
I loved every minute I played Oblivion, and would rank it as one of my favorite games ever.
The only real knock against it is that it's single player, and I'm so used to multi-player now. If my friends could play it with me, MMO-style, we'd never stop. It's on the shelf for me until I get a new computer. When that happens, re-installing OB will be one of the first things I do. While the Knight does have some valid complaints, all of them were fixable through mods (which doesn't mean that they're not problems, just that you can customize it to the game you want to play). I loved Oblivion. I'm not sure it's better than Morrowind, though. Morrowind's combat was terrible (especially the stealth game and ranged combat), but the atmosphere was much better. As to the original question, I"ve run into alot of problems on other people's computer and we could usually isolate the problem and get it fixed up. It's always ran just fine on my computer (well, it runs slowly because my computer is old, but it never crashed).

Re: Your Oblivion Experience
I played Oblivion for all of 1 week before I got bored with it. Graphics were good, but not breathtaking. The wheel of fortune "Diplomacy" was rediculous. Lockpicking was kind of neat. Storyline was mildly interesting but not engrossing.
I guess my days of single player RPG are done though, I need basic Multiplayer at a minimum to enjoy an RPG now. |

Re: Your Oblivion Experience
Yeah...I left that diplomacy bit out of my "hatred" list because I do not speak of it...

Re: Your Oblivion Experience
I played it on my 360 for a few weeks, but I got fed up with it. I seem to get fed up with games when I can't interact with actual real players like in an MMORPG. Like someone said before, I guess my time has come to an end with single player RPG's.
I also hated the camera views and how my character looked and walked in game. |

Re: Your Oblivion Experience
I got about two-thirds through the main quest, and had done just about every side quest I could find. I was Archmage and working on head of the Fighter's Guild, but I suddenly just got very bored with it. I had no problem killing any enemy, and could close any Gate I tried; my problem was the absolutely horrible AI made it impossible to run any quests with friendlies. They would run ahead and attack when I wasn't ready, they would jump in front of me while I was attacking, then turn against me; it was impossible to keep some alive that needed to stay alive, and the sheer frustration of having to fight against the AI instead of the enemies just killed it for me, and I got very bored very quickly after that. I just stopped playing, and that was that.
