Favorite game series?

Just curious as to what peoples favorite game series are? And by series i mean a game that has at least 2 in the series preferable 3 or more, but 2 works, take Final Fantasy for example, that series is in the tens. So feel free to mention your favorite series and perhaps a few reasons why its your favorite. Even list your second favorite series if its a close second. So i guess i should be the one to start this off... My favorite series would have to be Breath of Fire, i've been playing those games since the first one and i just love how the first three had connections to each other, and i also like how the the hero and heroine are always the same, of course the hero being a dragons helps too,lol. Second favorite series would have to be Rock Man, grew up playing those games, and have always been a fan.

I was always a HUGE Phantasy Star fan. I'm pretty sure that alot of that is nostalgia-releted, but I still enjoy playing through them, especially the second one. PSO was okay, but didn't have much of a hook.

I do enjoy the Final Fantasy games as well. I wasn't at all excited about the newest one (what is it, 12?) until I heard it was in Ivalice (the Final Fantasy Tactics world).

If a series has three games, but one stunk, does that still count as a series? If so, then Devil May Cry has to be in there. The first and third ones are among the best games ever made.

"Breath of Fire" most definatly. Well except for the crappy 4th game in the series but they more than made up for it with the awesomeness of the fifth game.

"Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter" is my favorite game the playstation 2 has to offer and there are lots of good ones available on that console.

Well, the winner is pretty clear now. It's not really a reflection of how much I like the individual games in the series, just how many games in the series I like and would play again.

I have so many fond memories of the Phantasy Star series. It got me into the whole RPG genre and just hooked me solid. I have never been able to get into the Final Fantasy series. The 3/4 view rendered backgrounds drive me nuts.

You should pick up FFXII when it comes out at the end of Oct. Plays a lot like an MMO, so you might enjoy it

If they finally moved away from the pre-rendered 3/4 views I'd consider it. I REALLY hate those.

Yeah, they've been gone since FFX. Ever since the leap to PS2, they've been full 3D.

Which is why I probabally wont be buying it. I played the demo and all I can see is MMPO-light without the players. Good recipe for a crap game to me. "Final Fantasy X" was one of the few games in the series that was actually good most of the stuff, especially the ps-x garbage, was just bad.
