Vanguard Release Date...

Well I was at a gameing site reading/watching some interview footage and I notice it has a release date for Vanguard on the page, and it says you can pre-order now through wal-mart.

Now what I do not understand is, I cannot find anywhere on Vanguards official Site, where they have a release date. So, did I discover something new?

Well, it's not uncommon for sites that sell games to estimate a release date - you'll likely see them change it at least a few times before launch.

One thing is for sure, until you see it on Sigil's/Microsoft'sVanguard's official site, there is no official release date.

EDIT: That said, a July 11 release is not impossible - it all depends on the length of the last two beta phases.

I have convinced myself that release will be September or December if they hit problems. I dare not hope for an earlier date.

I imagine that Sigil would benefit greatly from releasing Vanguard before the WoW expansion comes out (whenever that may be).

There is no official release date for Vanguard other than 2006, and every date not announced by Sigil is speculation and rumor.

I'm not sure... I'm having a hard time explaining why, though. Call it a hunch.

Hmm, I just wasn't sure. it's just something that caught my eye. Maybe they were told a date that it should be out by and they posted it not knowing it should had been posted. But I also expect that it will be on Sigils/Vanguards site as well as game sites. But if it is July 11th, i'll be happy. Until then, i guess i'll just keep playing eq2 and urban terror

I'm pretty sure if any date came out of Sigil, they'd embargo the information until they're able to announce it themselves personally.

Yar, what Cobalt said. Those sites just put up concrete dates because they want to get money out of you on pre-orders.

Personally, I've been assuming December 31st 2006 ever since I heard the date of 2006. Working in software qa/production does that to a person. *chuckle* It's almost inconcievable to me that someone could give a range of dates and not end up being the last possible moment in that range.
