The Steel Warrior adds Vanguard section

The Steel Warrior recently opened a Vanguard section on their forums.

For those unfamiliar with the site, TSW started as a Warrior site for EQ and quickly became THE place to go when you wanted to figure out exactly how things worked. It is a community of people who understand how to break down and analyze game mechanics and optimize the way you play.

TSW has expanded to include other games, and I am happy to see them branching out to include Vanguard.

If you plan to play a Warrior, TSW should join Vanguard Fighters in your bookmarks.

The Steel Warrior was an awesome resource back when I was an EQ warrior, I strongly recommend it to all.

That site helped me out more then a few times when I was playing my EQ warrior. Alot of great information and I'm sure the Vanguard section will be a good read as time goes by.

When I created Vanguard Fighters, I knew that site specific classes for the heavy fighters would launch eventually. And I knew that some people would prefer a site dedicated to a single class rather than an "archetype" based site that includes all four.

That's the beauty of the types of communities that grow around these games... everyone can find something that matches their own preferences. Some will only visit their class site. Some will only visit Vanguard Fighters. And some will visit both. Personally, I'm glad that people have that choice. I plan to support that choice by linking the class specific sites in the class areas on VF, as I have done with The Steel Warrior. If people follow those links and find a place that they prefer to VF, then I am glad I was able to help them find a place to get the information that they need. I'm not trying to carve out some huge chunk of the player "market." I simply wanted to create a site to contribute to the heavy fighter community that I have been a part of in so many other games, and am very much looking forward to in Vanguard.

I've usually played more than one tank class in the games I've played, and I've always visited class sites both for the ones I play and the ones I don't in an affort to better understand the mechanics of the game and the techniques I could use to improve my play. VF was launched with that in mind. I hoped that it would grow into a site that provided players like me a single place to come find everything they need. I also felt that the community at a site that included all the tank classes would be richer and more diverse.

I'm glad that so many of you have found Vanguard Fighters to be a place you can call home, or at least a place that you like to drop in and visit from time to time.

I prefer that we build our own Vanguard specific information here. I used TSW when I was playing eq but more often than not it ended up being a soap box for underinformed players. In the early days of EQ TSW was a very reliable resource when i quit EQ in 2004 it was mostly a place where people would come and show off their magelo.

I don't want this to seem like a rant or Eclipse will start having too much fun :P . I just think you are really on to something here TDD and we shouldn't let a good thing go to waste .

Very comendable for you TTD to show the out reach you are to other sites as TSW.

I used TSW alot and also /joined the chat online when i was on. There was alot of good that came from TSW...in those days, and helped alot of legendary warriors develop in EQ. (we all knew who the top warrior was on our servers )

VF will be dedicated to the game I am dedicated to, which was the same case to the steel warriors when i was in EQ. So VF will be my one-stop-source for that vital info I will need to become the warrior I hope to be.

TSW may develop some good following for vanguard and may offer lots of info, but the heart and soul of Vanguard Warriors (and other tanks) will be here
