Base
I have always seen the Warrior as the base of any team. He is reliable and always willing to sacrafice himself for the good of the "team." Always looking for the next fight and willing to do what it takes to get there and defeat its opponent. I agree with its armor being highly important as the warrior and the team live and die on the quality of its foundation. The Warrior is the foundation of any team. Often times warriors get big heads about them though. Thinking they cannot be replaced. A true warrior is one that leads directs and supports its other team/guild members. The basis of everything.
I also applaud the original thread starters statement. I couldnt have said that better either. ![]() |

Well I think of vikings and the Celtic people when I picture a warrior.
Moreso a Celt though, I love them so much for being the first to historically use spears that could do more than poke things hehe. They actually created the predecessor of the glaive and halberd (for the western world, they had no influence on the naginata and such of course). A celtic warrior dressed in chain with pieces of plate, shield on his back sword at his side and a nice spear with a cutting blade on top. Celtic standard weapons Edit: seem to have forgotten to put in the attitude of a warrior hehe. I see my warrior as that in your face bastard thats always in the thick of battle be it to defend others from death or to cause destruction and death among enemy ranks . |

![]() Now back on topic: I think a Warrior, as mentioned before, should: 1. have all his weapons visible 2. Carry around the emblem of his home, protecting it's honour from anyone that wants to harm his homeland. (on the chest should be nice) 3. Well taken care armour / weapons, but showing the long enduring fights with unfixable marks. Just my fantasy going at it again. In MMO we'll get the plate, looking like the rest i guess ![]() |

I agree with alot of others in that most warriors appear different. Whether dual wielding swords, or a big 2h blunt weapon, gnome size, or an ogre, we're there to get the job done. Being a warrior is more a state of mind, an attitude, and most of all being ballsy enough to be the first man into a battle, and the last man out.
But of course, we gotta look good doin it, so keep those swords and plate shined! ![]() Personally, I'd love to have a Samurai look. A topknot style haircut, if not wearing one of those helmet/masks with some sort of horn design. And the durable armors and hakama style pants, pretty pimpin'.

war·ri·or [wawr-ee-er, wawr-yer, wor-ee-er, wor-yer]
–noun 1. a person engaged or experienced in warfare; soldier. 2. a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics. To me, a warrior is what you make it. In most cases, I see it as a certain race or cultures representative fighter. If you choose to use different weapons or armor, then it is just preference. I plan on being a lighter, duel wielding fighter, probably Thestran with long brown hair. I plan on having a long hooded cloak and facing battles with practicality and logic rather than brute strength. I love rage abilities and such because they add to the game in an immersion sense. "who does this giant think he is?" (face turns red) "allright, allright, hit me again" (watches rage build) "Eat this!" (pushes down hotkey w/ rage attack, Giant falls down dead.) Kaldaan Warblade. |
