A warriors appearance should inspire....

Inspire confidence in his commerades

Inspire fear in his enemies

and inspire laughter in his drinking buddies

My favorite set of armor from EQ was the Midrange Velious set from HoT it was brownish beat up and looked like it had already been through 1000 battles from the instant you put it on.

That's what warriors should look like...

1000 battles.

P.s. Delune the top tank on my old EQ server was a wood elf

just thought I'd dig up this (seemingly) old thread and give it a bump.

for me a warrior is pretty much everything thats been said so far. Heavy armor, Light armor, No armor, 2h weps, 1h weps, maces, swords, daggers, heck, a damn bar glass or table leg (or his own leg!) are all equally effective. sure they may specialize in one or another thing, but in the end as long as he's got a leg to stand on and an arm to swing, a warrior will FIND a way to impact the situation. (this makes the black knigt from the holy grail probably the only truly "defeated" warrior in history. and even then he would have bitten arthurs leg off if he had been close enough. XD )

oh, and never forget to clean the blood off your weapon. unless its the guys leg, then I think, it may be nice to give it back to him once your "done" with it.

As with rad, im gonna post on this fairly dying thread. When I think of warriors. I think of William Wallance, and his crazy scorttish friends. Their fight was either personell...or for their country. But they fought with such passion...well they pwned alot of Enlish. You had the crazy Irish guy, the old dude, who never died, And williams best friend. But Wallace, had an aura about him that when he stepped on the battle field people stoped running away, and were ready to go get some. The war paint on the face, and udder skill with his massiace TWO HANDED sword, or that war hammer he used. Wallace killed alot of poor enlgish people who got in his way. I think thats a warrior...doesnt need armour or a sick weapon, just simple things, a brain, and a pourpose for being.

I like to think of the warrior in the Norse sense. I love the way that they fought for the honor of being awarded admittance to Valhalla after a lifetime of serving the gods. Though they weren't exactly religious fanatics, they fought for a reason and a purpose. Their lives were dedicated to serving the gods so they could serve them once more in the afterlife. I don't feel a warrior should be brutal. I think they should be able to attack without regret when the time calls for it but I have never seen them as a bloodthirsty type. I plan to play my warrior as a tough dwarf who won't back down and holds his honor above his own life. But that's just me and my love for the Norse tales =).

If you put Achilles, Maximus, Conan, and William Wallace into one person, that would be the perfect warrior. You have the skill, the brute strength, and the brain to make such a mighty fighter.

Physical appearance? I see a person with shoulder plates, maybe a chain mail shirt, maybe just a leather jerkin. Leather pants that might have thigh protectors or something. I see someone that can move around easily, but put up a heck of a fight. Very much the old celtic style warriors.

I think there should be warriors of all races

Caramon (ala DragonLance) was classic example of the old school Dungeons and Dragons fighter type, had a bit more practical approach to his craft. He had a weapon for every occasion and proved by having all the stealth of a pregnant Yak. Yet in later books, he showed both intelligence and cunning, traits not normally associated with a tank.
At any rate, that's how I want to play my Dwarven warrior. I'll favor an Axe, but will use what I need depending upon the situation. Oh, and I'll go for the most gaudiest, over-the-top armour I can find, steal or make.

To me the great warrior would be intelligent, and a brute with his strength and a 10 foot thick brick wall when it comes to toughness. as for clothing put on full plate none of the light stuff good old steel.

when i think warriors, i think of Klingons from Star Trek, fighting with Honour, peek physical condition, the big strong guy/gal of the group, the back bone of courage, the role model for what right, a role for justice and what not... u get that and you got a good image, unsell ur on the dark side and you decide to role play to the max, then by all means, be as evil as you can
