indeed i am fully aware that dual wielding tanks take more damage than a tank using a sword and a shield, however im also aware that due to screwy EQ dev's, tanks with shields and swords do not yield enough aggro to effectively tank with a shield, so lugging around a shield is.... well, pointless cept for the cool graphics.... save a few shields in the higher end of the game that have furious fash IV and above combined with a weapon with Anger III or better o.o. i just like dual wielding, it produces more dps aggro and overrall aggro, but im an aggro addict, the extra riposite that you take every now and then is worth it.... and strikethrough aa's and armor mod's will actually lower that amount significantly

I have always looked at classes as how they would fit in an Army. For example I see Rogues being the spies, Rangers being scouts, Wizards artilery, Paladins/DreadLords are the calvery, and warriors are the foot soldiers.
Warriors are your unset fighters, they are not bound to any one style of fighting, where rogues you can almost always count on using dex and agi to win a fight, or a ranger will almost always use his bow first, and a paladin will be very skilled with blade but prefer more honorable fighting techniques. Warriors however have no set path to adhere to, when you face a warrior he could overwhelm you with strength, out manuver you with his speed, will readily use a 2h spear or a pair of long daggers or anything else for that matter. You just never know what you are going to get yourself into with a fighter. And as for the leader of these armies, well class doesn't matter, I see the leaders being the highest lvl, the best of the gathered classes. |

i would rather follow a level 1 warrior into combat that knew the stats and strats than random noob max level who has all the best armor in game and hardly workd to get it. knowledge and strat > armor and level.

I agree with Lightning, I kind of see a warrior as being willing to sacrifice his body for the personal cause he chooses. I suppose a warrior could be a religious zealot but I would think people the warrior cares about would be the first cause. Perhaps they would find themselves defending people they don't know such as a village or farmers and would feel the same then as well. I have always felt that the armor I wore and the weapons I carried were how others judged the strength and value of my warrior. I always took pride in that. Make yourself look imposing and powerful and people respond I think. Of course the mobs don't care, they hitcha till you are a smear regardless, but at least you looked good dyin right?

The warrior's armor is there for functionality. It will be bigger, thicker, harder, and heavier then all the others. The same for his weapon, the same for his shield. They shall be made of the finest materials around and kept clean if not polished so that they are at their atmost perfection when the warrior calls on them.
The warrior will be the one to trade blows with the mightiest beings alive and remain standing. The warrior projects a aura of confidence and strength from him leaving others in awe. The warrior will be the one that stands between life and death, the first to see everything on the battlefield, the first to fight, the last to fall. These are the ways of the warrior. This is the lifestyle we choose.

Problem I see with armor in this game is that it looks too comfortable. The armor is so closely attached to your skin, how does it really help defend against anything?
