They haven't released any details on class limitations by race (other than the fact that there will be some) so we don't know yet if wood elves are going to be able to be warriors.

My guess is that they will... but it's a guess just like anyone else's... so don't go find a bookie to give you any action on that

And welcome to the boards!

God I am gonna get flamed for this, but I've always seen the warrior as a combination of Conan and Caramon. Brute strength with a no frills attitude toward what needs to be done. I know Conan is more of the fantasy warrior/rogue without a lot of "real world" physics-type application....that loincloth would need to have some pretty hefty enchants on it to protect ole Au-nuld. Caramon (ala DragonLance) was classic example of the old school Dungeons and Dragons fighter type, had a bit more practical approach to his craft. He had a weapon for every occasion and proved by having all the stealth of a pregnant Yak. Yet in later books, he showed both intelligence and cunning, traits not normally associated with a tank.
At any rate, that's how I want to play my Dwarven warrior. I'll favor an Axe, but will use what I need depending upon the situation. Oh, and I'll go for the most gaudiest, over-the-top armour I can find, steal or make.

Doesn't seem much like flame bait to me, it's pretty much in line with my view - brutal, up front and straightforward...

Well

Since someone brought up movies for reference, the ultimate type warrior to me is like Maximus in Gladiator. Can fight, can lead , knows tactics, stratagy, and a bit of politics. Yes beating a thing to death with its own leg is definatly the right idea.

I've always thought of warriors as heavy armored but not necessarily toting around a shield. I always liked the idea of a gargantuan axe or greathammer being wielded by a beast of a man with the armor of an M1A1 Abrams. However, the game world says because we are the ones taking damage, we should go shield over 2handers to increase our defense.

what should a warrior look like? not like an inquisitor, DK or paladin... what i would like to see on warrior models is our other weapons that we have bagged still visible... IE if we are wielding 2 1 handers, have a 2hander and a shield bagged, our 1 handers should be in our hands, the shield slung over our backs with the 2 hander behind it..... when you switch to the 2 hander, the 1h's should go into sheaths at their sides and the 2hander in hands obviously, but thats probabally too much to ask

theres not really any one look i can think of to describe a warrior... just 'fierce' I've always associated warriors with having an array (sp?) of weapons on them at all times, which is why as a warrior ... I carry around many different weapons.... aggro weapons, dps weapons, a massive axe or sword for when i go beserk, but of course, i never carry anything that will give me no aggro output whatsoever...... but, thats another story...

warriors shouldn't be associated to being a dumb ogre wielding a chunky sword and slinging it around hoping to hit something.... warriors should be precise, but not delicate... so i lean towards.... Vah Shir / Kat quick, nimble, strong, intelligent.. your worst nightmare

Aaah, a cat after my own heart - Kura are every other race's worst nightmare <purrrrr>. As long as we have a similar bearing to Vah Shir I will be most content.
