<sigh> Guess I just need an "It'll get better&quo

Hail and well met my brothers and sisters of the sword.

My name is Rulor and I'm a sometimes frustrated young Warrior.

My lament... ok, ok... my WHINE ops: is that when solo... and solo is what I mostly due... I can't deal with adds... beyond running or dying.

I'm the type of player who fights what the Devs want me to fight... I go for the 2 dot mobs of maybe +2 to my level but usually only +1 at most.

I occasionally fight the odd even con or -1, 3 dot... and don't do all that well I might add, though I tend to win.

I don't aspire to handle uber +4 or 5 of my level or 3, 4, or more dot mobs... just what the Devs want me to fight.

Now I'm quite content overall with my performance and "kill pace" ... but when I get adds... ooh mama... watch out... 9 times out of 10 I have to bail and about half that time manage to get away alive... if Sprint is up.

I'm only Lv 10 and I'm hoping this will get better... if you look at my kit you'll see from my stats I'm not all that bad off... as a matter of fact I was shocked to see that I've got 300 to 400+ more HP than most Lv 10 Warriors on Woefeather, and a good 100 to 200+ AC

http://vgplayers.station.sony.com/ch...Id=55834606102

All I did gear wise was go to the Broker and buy the best of anything I could find that was less than 1sp 50cp each.... and kitted myself out with about 12'ish silver... give or take a bit.

So, after having done this "comparison" to others I had to wonder how badly are most faring with adds?

Maybe I just don't play a Warrior well... entirely possible as I'm not the most gifted of players, LOL.

I have a Lv 9 Pally and he handles adds, even 2x +1, 2 dot mobs with ease... EASE !! It's of course due to the heals.

However, conceptually I love and prefer my Warrior... oh... and I'm probably one of like 3 Warriors in the whole game who has no aspirations to MT in groups or raids... just let me sit back and dual wield/DPS and I'm happy... but danged if he's not getting frustrating to play due to adds.

And as someone will inevitably ask: "If you prefer to sit back, DW and do DPS... why a Wariror and not Offensive Fighter?"

Fair question... I DO like to tank... I just don't care if another Tank comes along and wants the MT spot... plus... plain and simple... I like the look of Plate armor

I find myself logging my Pally on more and more simply because he can solo so much better with far less frustration... yet when things are going fine, 1 vs 1 fight... I enjoy my Warrior more.

Like the subject line says... maybe I just need a pat on the head and a:

"It'll get better lil' fella, don't'chu worry none."

Thanks for your time.

Take care all.

Upgrade to the best weapon you can get. Then stick it out until lvl 12. AT level 12 you'll get leap attack. That's when warriors become a good soloing class.

From 15-18 I was around Everdusk switching between solo/duo/trio. I must say my exp speed doubled, or even trippled when I have 1-2 other people with me And adds become really easy to deal with.
Killling 1 mob jumped from 30sec-1min down to like.... 10 seconds.
Something you really should start looking for, a duo partner.

Everyone seem to be very active to get group after 14 for me. It was quite hard before that.

I don't do +2 level mobs. Usually stick to +1 at most. Once I started doing missive, I don't even mind sticking to -2 -3 etc because they're so easy to kill at that point.

Surprisingly we were level 17 when trio-ing 3 dots level 20 mobs. And we were rushing through them with ease. It was a blast. We even took down a 4 dot around there

Heya, Jah,

That'd be cool, I'd enjoy that... and you can tank

I'm currently in Thestra but was thinking of moving back to Qalia since my Paladin is here in Thestra and will be doing the content over here.

Last time I checked my friend's list you were Lv 9... though I haven't logged Rulor in since making my Pally a few days ago... so you may very well be much higher now.

I'll move him back over to Qalia sometime over the next few days and maybe we can hook up for some mob bashing.

Looking forward to it.

Oh... and to the others here who've replied... thank you.

I do duo mostly when I'm not solo'ing with a buddy's Shaman and things do of course go much more smoothly, but solo'ing is annoying when compared to my Pally... but only when adds come... otherwise I'm content with the Warrior... more or less.

I will for sure give it until Lv 12 and Leap Attack before making any final decisions.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Take care.

if life is getting hard then play a cleric.. they got the armor and heals...
and he can use your old armour...
ore go for the bloodmage.. just clothes.. but also a healer....

I myself got a disciple and a cleric.. just because I dunno what I like...
but I am seeing I am playing more and more with my warrior. just a lvl 8 but steadily climbing... I always loved this class but found it always to money hungry....

so there comes my healer... worst gear... but grouping like hell... with mostly players 2 lvls higher... that healer is my cashcow.. atleast in other online games...

in Vanguard I got my disciple into dipolmation quests... which is nice money and could be a good adition to a warior money hunger

Warriors are one of the worst solo classes in terms of what we can kill. We can keep a good kill rate on the easy stuff, but can't take on mobs nearly as difficult as other classes.

If soloing is important to you, you might chose another path.

I think it boils down to our poor defensive capabilites in Offensive stance.

In aggresive stance we get -20% mitigation, in defensive stance we gain +15%, that's a huge difference, especially with a shield in defensive stance.

Net result, they are able to increase our damage substantially in offensive stance but the price for that is recieving heavy damage.

I murder solo mobs, often killing 2 dot mobs 2 levels higher than me in two to three hits (decimate/obliterate combo) but the price is I can't handle 2 mobs, even same level it's touch and go.

Good training for tanking though, your pulling solo has to be almost as good as your pulling in groups.

On a lighter note the grass isn't greener on the Paladin class.

I have a level 24 Paladina nd level 24 Warrior, the Paladin can take on three same level 2 dot mobs without breaking a sweat, but it takes an eternity to get rid of them.

Paladins just don't have the DPS, unfortunately their aggro skills are below par, far worse than the warrior class and they don;t have +40% hate in def stance or DPS to help build hate, their rescues are awesome, but no substitute.

Not sure what lvl you are but initially I found it bothersome to solo but once I had some good weapons (purchased off the AH) and the kick+dec combo, soloing become alot better. Same level 3-dotters depend on the mob, some I can do, some I can't. But any 2-dot mob my level or lower is easy and I can take two of em (even 2 1-2+ levels above 2-dotters), especially now with MG.

I think each level my warrior seems better than before in comparison to other mobs.

Now, as for questing I found in the teens many were doable without a grp but as I level up I find grouping to be more and more important if I want to effectively level up (which is fine with me, I like to grp but can also just pound mobs if I want to, just that questing is best for leveling as well as getting some very good items).
