Leap Attack and my disapointement
I am very disapointed that today 7/2 they nerfed leap attack i think partly due to this boards post on it. How did they nerf it? well you dont actualy leap anymore which was what many of you wanted why dont i want it? well first of all its a f****** leap attack YOUR supposed to be leaping don't use it in a non leaping situation, second of all it was really fun and great for pve and absolutely amazing for pvp. I have no way of catching up to other players in pvp anymore or runing away becuase it could be used for that. It's rediculous i sit there and do a lil animation 10 meters away then they get out of range leap attack was inovative I think in many ways and now its gone, mabye its just a bug, because they did not say anything about it in the patch notes.. I hope it really is becuase i will loose a very big fun aspect of the game and get killed at least 10 times as much in pvp it may even make me quit. My solutions!
1: make the leap an optional thing for warriors if you actualy want to leap or not.. 2: put it back the way it was it was not broken only a few people complained 3: Make the animation better with an actual cool looking attack thats not buggy dont just do a quick fix that makes me and a lot of warriors on the pvp servers upset. I really think the optional thing would be best why not have it that way? no1 gets hurt hte people hwo dont like the leap on pve can have it off the people who love t he leap for pve/pvp(its very good for pve in the fact used to flank while actualy causing dmg instead of just running around a mob not able to attack) Sorry for my spelling mistakes, im distraught, tired, and infuriated. EDIT: This post is useles if its simply a bug. which i hope to god it is. |

I really do hope this is a bug, already reported it for one, Leap Attack is great! It makes me feel like a real barbarian. Its quite ridiculous that people complain about the leaping, they shall go and roll a paladin or something instead of trying to ruin funny abilities.

It had its uses and i dont care what you say, the previous animation and mechanics was bad. If it was used the way it was intended, IE on a fleeing foe, then it should have had a low health of foe component put on it. As it was, it was silly.
But fear not, to get a decent attack without the silly mechanic the endurance cost was raised 3X. taunting strike got a 4X endurance cost raise. And heres my Opinion and feedback: Given that 90% of our abilities is endurance based, or has an endurance component, raising endurance costs on skills just makes other skills even LESS used. Start putting more skills on the energy bar . Power attack doesnt cut it either. Do a dps parse, the dps gain with this on and off, IS NOT the % said in the tooltip of any rank. When can we expect the fix to chains that are putting us in a different stance? How about fixing that key component instead of the other crap? Frankly, with muultiple bugs,( I still cant get my toon to log in with the right appearance 1 in 3 trys) and other game problems, tha very LAST thing you need is bad word of mouth from players who your changing key aspects of thier toons with each patch. edit: I left eq2 after supporting it since release. Know why? The dev response in EoF that said they were having to take 1 step back to take 2 steps forward. I dont know any more stupid saying or comment or response from a game,buisness, organization , than that one. You dont continue to negate a players past work just so they can be better in the future. Game balancing is needed but I wont stick around for the rollercoaster ride of good class 1 day, bad class, good class, bad class and etc. |

They not only increased the endurance cost on leap attack they also made it so you can't cast it as frequently. At least it seems so to me. It feels like it takes an extra second between leap attacks.
That being said the change doesn't bother me a bit. I don't want warriors to be the fotm for this game and we are a powerful soloing class. I feel like I'm doing as much dps as a dps class in offensive stance atm and with that feeling you know something's going to get changed. I also call bullshit on anyone saying they've used a parser in this game. There are none out there so you'll just talking crap. If you want a fotm class then go play disciple please. I want us to stay a balanced class with no fotm people flooding to our class to ruin it for everyone that's a real warrior and would play this class even if there was no leap attack. |

heres some sage advice to any dev reading this. Balance with increments. Not overpowered 1 day, shit the next. take disciples as a perfect example, crappy then godely to almost as crappy as they were. get OFF the rollercoaster.
And yea to TRIPLE or QUADRUPLE the cost of any skill is being on the rollercoaster. |

I thought leap attack was kinda boinked animation wise in the first place. But I also found the usefulness in its effectiveness many times. I always kept saying to my buds if they just let us leap up and down would be better.
I love my Orc warrior, wouldnt trade him for an sac of gems. +2 CON, +2 STR is an added bonus too. As far as doing my job at lvl 24 right now, There is no aggro from my parties crits, or epic crits I cant hold or re aquire. Class is strong.

Yea, I agree. I'll take flavor and having to pull back to cast leap attack over standing in place.
Besides, leap attack is our main soloing tool. Make it move us to get rid of botters! There are so many good reasons to leave it like it was. Atm it's just caving to the lazy who don't want to have to pull back as they cast the ability. Cry me a river. |

I at least get the animation I just dont move.
If I trigger leap attack and am not moving I jump up do the strike, get the orange damage, and often trigger decimate but I do not get the movement part of the old jump. If you are running around/out of range/doing other stuff you wont get the animation |
