06 Feb. Rescue change.
We had a change to our rescue yesterday and I am not too happy about.
- You can now use rescues on allies behind or in front of you as long as there are not objects in the way (360 degree line of sight). I love my warrior because it requires thinking to play which is a nice change from other mmo's. You cannot just mash away at buttons because if you do you risk missing chains, counters, etc. Then there was placement which apparently does not matter now. This also disturbs me about grouping with others. I am a little shocked because we talked about his in beta and everyone agreed that more then a 180 los would be too much and for this change to come through now boggles the mind. O.o Now that everyone knows that we have 360 rescue a lot of people will imo be a little less careful (even regular play friends) because they know that they can be just about anywhere and be protected. I am hoping that this gets changed back to 180 so I do not feel like my warrior is being dumbed down.

I totaly agree with this. The ability to play a warrior correctly has always been a part of the fun factor.. positioning mobs, and positioning your teammates during fights .... it doesnt make any scence to be able to rescue your teammate that is behind you or not in your line of sight... i like the 180 rule even if the 360 rule makes it easier..

I personally like the 360 change, although I do definatly see your point as well. Some of my group members like to be in back of the mob for attacking while others may want to keep me inbetween them in the mob. With a 360 degree attack I can protect them either way as well as from unexpected adds. Of course without a 360 degree maybe players would pay a bit more attention to agro control, something I think most players have either never learned or forgotten. Many players seem to want to try and attack the hell out of a mob or start dropping dots on before a Tank even gets his first hit off.

I remember many people being taught aggro control this way in EQ. |
