Dual wield borked?

Hi,

I haven't tested this enough to say for certain but I thought I'd throw this out for comment and see if anyone else has noticed the same thing. Whenever I dual wield, my combat chains very rarely light up. After looking at things last night, I get the feeling that, when I'm dual wielding, both weapons have to crit in order for the chain to become active. Which would mean that you only get 1/4 as many chains as someone with one weapon.

Anyone else noticed something similar or am I hallucinating?

Well as of now I am a level 16 Warrior and duel wielding. I have not seen any issue of critting less in fact Its more as I hit twice for every one hit of a 1h and shield or 2h. My weapons are rare ones so that might have something to do with it.

The issue that I'm seeing isn't that I'm not crittinc enough, it's that my finisher (devestate?) doesn't seem to be lighting up when I think it should. IE: Whenever my mainhand weapon crits.

You only get chains on ability crits, not regular crits.

Right. I'm assuming that every time I get a crit on 'yellow' damage with my mainhand weapon, I should get a finisher and that doesn't seem to be happening. ... maybe I'm just missing something obvious. :?:

If you're in defensive stance, Decimate won't trigger because it's an offensive stance-only ability. Only suggestion I can think of..

A few patchs ago it said Dual Wield would not penalize Block, Dodge and Parryanymore. However, the penalties for Longswords and Short Swords, tho reduced, are still in effect. Could be that's what they meant, a reduction, instead of no penalty? :?

I've noticed that with having an offhand, in the tooltip it still says that I receive the penalty to dodge/block/parry, but I've also looked at my defense tooltip (where it shows melee avoidance %) and there is no difference between having the offhand longsword (or axe or mace for that matter) equipped. So it appears the penalty was taken away in that patch, but the tooltip wasn't edited to show it.

well there is a difference between a crit and just a very nice high damage hit. if you will watch, some of the high damage hits the numbers that fly up look average in shape and size, maybe just a tad bigger. crit hits the numbers are much bigger and seem stretched you may be experiencing that.
