Yeah...I'd like to see the warrior given some defining abilities or roles within the group. Currently the Pally can mitigate as well as us, has great group buffs and nice heals + rescues.
The DK got some amazing luv at the end of beta. I'd play one for sure but they're going to be really overpopulated the first few weeks of release. They sure do dish out some hurt though. Debuffs, lifetaps, rear-mob teleport, invisibility, run speed buff. What's not to like about the class. I'd like to see how their 2H parry ability works out vs. a shield... What should we ask for as a warrior? More control over who's targeting what? Should we actually receive a bonus to avoidance or mitigation, something to make us more survivable and desirable as a MT? Not quite sure, but towards the end of beta V I kept feeling that groups would take a warrior as the last choice of the three in the archetype. In the end of course, it's the player behind the pixels who determines the effectiveness of the class... |

We will have to wait and see how it plays out nite. Its only a small difference in midigation and only for a short period on time. (IE 20% then you loose 2% midigation each hit - etc) Its not something thats maintainable for the duration of a boss fight. (IE 3 min 50% defensive in EQ) And the way +midigation % effects work in vanguard is they raise your Midigation by a % of your current midigation not a flat 50% less dammage ontop of your old mitigation. IE shield wall(80%), someone at 20% midigation would goto 36% midigation for the duration.
In the end, theres NO WAY to please everyone. If warriors have no tanking advantages over pally / DK then warriors will wonder what makes them special ? Why exist?. I know alot of people say warriors do more dps so should be happy, but atm it isnt true. DK's are on par with warriors for dammage from my experance, all depending on there gear as we know in all MMO's the tank class is very item dependant. PS: Pallys get something very similar to the warrior midigation in the form of a absorb rune (not 100% on the % midigation), Not sure about DK's |

Dread Knights are dependent on our debuffs not only from Dreadful Countenance (DC) but from Devour Mind and Devour Strength. Of course the downside to these abilities is that they work for everyone. We get some cool utility in the form of an AC buff that scales with DC, some life taps, teleportation, and invis.
The only concerns that I have are the ones that plague every other MMO. Take EQ2 for example... Shadow Knights have no place in EQ2 raids because they cannot do anything that another class can't do better. Sure the "can" tank, but a Guardian or Berserker does it better, and sure they can "debuff" but a Defiler will own them any day of the week. Since there are only 24 raid slots available, they can't be wasted on a class that is mediocre at all their roles. Of course there will always be guilds that don't bias based on class, but if you are running a raid and you have 1 slot left and need a debuffer, a good majority would take the Defiler simply because it gives them a greater margin for success. I only hope that it doesn't happen like this in Vanguard, not just for Dread Knights, but for any class at all. If a person picks a class because it sounds like something they will have a ton of fun playing, then they should be able to without the fear that their choice will in any way alienate them from certain aspects of the game. Now some people might and probably will say that my concerns are not justified, and I would agree if it wasn't for all the experiences I have had with other MMOs and the track record that has been set forth. Only time will tell as the game evolves from its current incarnation to what it will be when people start to show what each class is truly capable of. I hope for all of us there is room for every class on raids.
