So after doing more research I found some things out.

The warrior defensive stance gives 40% mitigation vs the pally and DK ones that only give 15%. That's why palladins have all these mit buffs, with a mit buff they equal a warrior in mit. Then DKs have debuffs that can really decrease the mobs damage.

Another concern though. They are revamping the warrior class. From what I've heard they're changing it so warriors have no aggro advantage. Warrior = DK = Pally for aggro. They're also reducing the defensive stance on warriors to 15%.

I sure hope they have some nice things lined up for Warriors in exchange. Because from what they're saying they're going to do warriors sound like they're getting pretty gimped, much less be a MT on a raid.

As for having a warrior off tank or just sitting there as an option to tank. That works in EQ1 but won't in VG. VG has a raid size limit of 24 people so it will be a lot like EQ2 raiding. Every member and every ounce of dps matters. So every protective fighter you bring to a raid lowers your chances of winning unless they're doing a tanking role.

I'm sorry but where did you get this information from? I have been working with the warrior revamp and none of what you have stated has been brought up. Infact most of what you posted, the opposite is happening. :-p

Read the beta forums. It's all there. The DK and Warrior class leads have both posted about upcoming changes.

The DK posted about how the aggro amongst all the protective fighters is being leveled out and is supposed to be even. The warrior class lead said the mitigaiton on the defensive stance is being reduced to 15% like the palladin defensive stance.

o.O Oh, ok. Can you clarify some things then? What are the upcoming changes then. I've heard a lot of things and clarification would be nice.

How it is right now with our mitigation. 40% was NOT intended. It was a bug via the calculations on the devs end and it slipped through for quite some time. Got it cleared up with them last night. It was intended to be 15% from the get go. Pals is 15%, DKs is 10% (15% at DC5)
You can quote me on this, but the warrior can reach the highest mitigation levels of all protective fighters. We have the most abilities to do so. In the end, the warrior's mitigation was not gimped down to 15%, that's how it was supposed to be.
