Warrior information from Fanguard!!
I got a chance to speak with Darrin McPherson (Talisker) today and he spilled the beans! (And April from PR was nice enough to review the information he gave me and release it for publication... so here it is!)
-Warrior specific information- Darrin said... Warriors are the most martial of the heavy tanks. They are battle commanders. What this translates to in game terms is that warriors will do the most DPS of the heavy fighters. Warriors also have some buffs. One example is "commanding presence" which is a group attack buff. |

That might be overstating things a bit..
Warriors do more DPS than the other tanks.. but not so much as to make them unbalanced, and none of the tanks come close to what an offensive fighter does for damage.

No. All of the heavy fighters can take equally well given the same equipment, stats allocation, and buffs.
We want there to be situationally superior tanks, but not overall superior tanks.

Everything here sounds outstanding. I am pleased with the news and the shield defense factor is great news to me since I was going 1h/shield the whole time. Now it will be like having 2 breastplates.
The DPS issue sounds great as well. I played 2 DPS classes in the past: 1 in EQ, and 1 in EQ2, so this will fit right in with my gaming experience. After reading about the buffs, I can't help but speculate that the warrior buffs will branch off into several different categories to choose from. |

Very interesting. I am afraid though....if dreadknights can stun/mez and tank as well as a warrior...that they may be the preferred tank. I dunno though warriors do always seem to come out on top. I just wish I knew which would be ultimately the class people want as their raid tank prior to launch.
