Re: First time being a tank...
Shouldn't be getting adds in the first place, just gotta have lulls and cc's out there, but usuually if you built enough aggro on the 1st mob, you can switch, do a few taunts, and switch back with no worries. That is, unless you have a genius sorc who dumps his/her whole energy pool in 5 seconds.

One: get to 18. You'll get an instant aggro shout that really helps when you have alot of adds. Two: Abuse your rescues. Keep your fingers near your F keys so you can quickly target whoever gets the add and fire off the rescue. One infuriating stab after that will usually keep it on you so long as they leave it alone. I almost never blow my rescue on the main target (unless it's a for a bloodmage - they do so very fast but are every bit of awesome). Three: get to 18. Myrmidon's Gift is an instant crit skill. If you've got a decent weapon, you can get an add fast by going offensive, critting a kick, then pulling off your critical chain. Finally: Be a halfling. Gives you another instant aggro skill. There's also the very high dex, which allows you pull off some stupid damage. I can tank nearly as well in offensive stance as defensive (though, I prefer to be the MA rather than the MT). The game really changes for a warrior at 18. If you have another tank in the group (especially a DK), let them pull Main Assist and tank/kill the main target while you get all the adds (and the main target if you've got time).

Now I only use it cause it's damn fun, but at least at 18, I have means to get in a big hit without spinning the mob around, cause trust me - it annoys me to do it. |

Re: First time being a tank...
Shadowstep is a very cool ability. Many of the compitent DKs I've grouped with use it to flip the mob purposely so that it's back is to the party. I did have one SS a little too close to another group of mobs. That got messy.

Occassionally, you're forced to fight in a very small area so that you don't pull more mobs. Can't flip then, but thankfully, the rogue stealth is better when they're in combat so they can get behind the mob without pulling aggro in areas that the tank would.
