macro problem?

This probably should go into the necro forum, but I'm having the same problem across the board so I'll ask here.

when I make a /cast macro, it always says "you do not have that ability" I am copying the same exact syntax ("name of spell") as the normal spell casting icons, but I always get the message "you do not have that ability"...I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong....any help?

I believe its case sensitive.

And make sure you have the rank in there as well as the quotation marks.

On-topic, or perhaps only slightly off it, one of my beta-ported chars on Test somehow lost her "AutoAttack" button, skill, whatever it may be. She can't access it on trainers to buy it either, though I've seen it for sale on other chars.

This is not a huge issue -- I checked the syntax of the "AutoAttack" button on another char and just duplicated it on this one, and it works just fine... EXCEPT when I go to harvest. Normally you can target the node and hit 1 (in my case anyway) to start harvesting; in this case, even though I *think* the macro is identical, it's not working.

I'll double-check to make sure I have my syntax-facts straight but in the meantime, anyone have any ideas on this one?

Auto Attack is not from the trainer. Pretty sure it is on the general tab of the abilities book along with ranged attack.

It is, but it -- and the ranged attack -- can get "lost" (happened a lot in beta) and when it does, the trainer is usually where you get it back. I'm not that bothered, just puzzled.

It was possible on some archetype trainers (maybe class too) to buy autoattack even when it was available in the book, even in early live.

As a ranger, I actually was able to buy it from a spellcaster trainer in early February.

Same for me ... as a Necromancer I was able to buy AutoAttack from a spellcasting trainer in Hathor Zhi in early February, though I already got the ability in my book.

You can just right click the spell icon itself in the hot bar and then click scroll up or down to change the icon.

If you wish to add non casting macros such as equip or %t etc, just add a “/whatever” under or above the actual spell command.

They had some issue with one of the last patches and ppl lost the auto-attack. Thy actually recommended to go and buy it of a trainer in case you had lost it. I had to do this and then it was fine. (I need to check my necro, I haven't played with in in a while)
