If you will calmly refute that person and point out your actual quote, nothing will come of such things. However, refusing to answer "constructively" will gain nothing but disrespect from other posters. These forums are about debate, and both sides need to be straightforward and civil for a debate to work.

this seems to have gone in a bad way.I would say just keep cool and don't take posts personally. We don't know each other personally and these are just opinions based on one's own experience. Things can vary a lot from server to server. If you believe that someone is attacking you just leave it or at least reiterate your point without attacking or being nasty (I didn't read all the posts here so I don't know who started or what exactly is the issue, but I just don't like things to go sawer in a place where I really enjoy to post). As to the theme. I still think that that is possible to make enough money for all your spendings (bearing in mind that I play all spheres and I am a sorc, which means I don't take all the damage). It appears that diff classes will require diff strategies to get the money. Anyway if you are in a nice guild and go grouping or raiding with them I think it is only fair if all contribute to the armor fixing of their tank (this would be harder to establish in a random group, though I think it would only be fair. At the end enjoy the game and have fun (even with all the bugs we encounter ) |

I would make the counter-argument that just because you can use something at a certain level, doesn't mean you're intended to.
A good example of this is rams at 40 in WoW. You had to stop and really concentrate to have enough gold by level 40 to buy your ram. I never even came close just through normal adventuring. Those things are put in at those levels for the people who are most dedicated to it. You have to be dedicated to making the money in order to achieve it by that level. It is difficult to say that someone who only adventures is dedicated to making money. The money-dedicated profession is crafting - I mean, what are they if not merchants? And it should be more lucrative - look at how boring it is compared to adventuring. If crafting offered nothing that wasn't easily obtainable through adventuring, it would be a pointless sphere. So in summary, just because it is possible to buy something at a certain level, doesn't mean that the average person should be able to. Those are there as goals for the cutting-edge, hard-core people. Those of us who are average have to wait a little longer.

Then I have seriously misunderstood your complaint. However, I do assure you that almost everyone I know can afford items, including the mounts that you mentioned, at the appropriate level. That is adv, also, not just crafters. Those that can't are the sort that don't bother about money and could have enough if they just put effort into getting it.
As Nil said, not everyone will have everything immediately. If that were not the case, then nothing less than heroic items would suit any player. Those that take the time and put forth the effort get better items. Likewise, those who put effort into making money do make money. |
