The trick to making money as an adventurer is to NOT always fight mobs your level or higher.

Thats the fast way to the poor house especially if your duoing 3 or 4 dots.

Grind on some green con 2 dots for a while.. you have to kill more of them but you kill them faster so you level at about the same rate and you get 10x the cash and loot drops.

That's interesting. As someone who doesn't adventure all that much and who, when she does, seems to always be in newbie areas (damn this altitis! I need meds!), I've always sort of assumed that big-dot dungeon crawls were THE way to make money in Vanguard.

I certainly know some people who *do* make a pretty good living like that, probably more from selling loots on the broker than to a vendor. But it's reassuring to hear that part-time combat types like me can go out, murder a few innocent mobs, and come home with some cash.

I'm also told that vendor trash values go up a fair bit as you level (logically). Since the highest I've got is 16, I'm just starting to see the 16/32 copper stuff -- I guess this scales further as you level?

Here are 3 tricks I know to make short-term fast (relative word) money when you are a few silver short.

1. make a kura go through the newbie quests all the way to lormir (pickup the barbarian quests north of the portal) you can mke about 12 silver in about 40 minutes

2. there is a garaw**** spawn (you spell it) in the BC newbie zone, that is instant, and drops little claws at about a 40% rate. if you can 1-hit the little sucker, loot, hit him again you can get about 100kills a minute(no faction + if you 1-hit them, so make a choice) which will net about 10silver in 40 minutes. the spawn is at the left end of of the griffon-nests

3. make a southern continent barbarian (the varajar?) and do the lost horse quest, the two trainer quests and the meet captain For**** (in lormshir forgot his full name) 1.4 silver in about minutes.

these are for thsoe times you need the extra 40 silver for your horse/armor fixes, but yes dungeon crawls with the inherent broker sales is much better money if you have the right group. also there is money in dilpo clothing, esp. lowend, again it's a walmart mentality of volume sales at low low prices but it can bring in silver while you presence build.

I suspect if you took the time to do all of the newbie->lvl 12ish quests in each of the racial areas (excuding martok cuz the faction build is too big a pain) you could make a gold in an evening just by the quest money. again it'd be boring as watchign paint dry. but post level 12 you'd be at almost 0% risk of death penalty if that worries you.

Yeah, I've thought of that too, since lowbie quests are *so* plentiful you can't help but make cash, especially as you're not spending on anything.

However, although I'm an admitted altoholic, I'd find doing that distasteful. I may not end up playing all the alts I make forever, but I certainly *intend* to give them a jolly good try when I make them. And I love them, even if later on I *cough* downsize them. Making just to mail money and then delete... not my thing.

Not saying zomg it's wrong - just not right for me. Shame too, because it's a pretty decent quick 10-15s earner.

Oh I don't know...

Donald trump has a billon dollars. and a wig that gets molested by possoms when he leaves NYC . I got...enough, I can play my games, build my dollhouses, make my trainboard, got time to contemplate how 20lbs of dogfood turns into 32.5lbs of poop. got a wife who doesn't get diamonds, but should, and who takes me a minute to remember each morning this is not the first time I'm seeing her....

Some of the adv do too, so that argument doesn't work. All I see here is that you are put out because you don't have as much extra cash as others do. Since there are adv of your level and lower who have more cash than you, perhaps you should consider the possibility that they are doing something that you are not.

I'm done with this thread. I don't think there's anything we can say to change the OP's mind, which is fair enough, but I'm not convinced of the original argument either.

If making money is your main goal, then why not be one of those "evil" crafters?

I don't understand why anyone would find it odd that people who spend their whole time being merchants have more money than those of us who wander about trying to get ourselves killed.
