Spells are what school?

Sorry for the stupid question, but does anyone have a list of spells and what school they belong to?

As far as I can tell, the schools are: Mental, Physical, Spiritual, Arcane, Fire, and Ice.

I can tell easy ones on my Sorc, but I'm not sure which schools my Blood Mage uses.

Re: Spells are what school?

I thought the schools were:

- Alteration
- Evocation
- Conjuration

with maybe one more I've forgotten. Or are those purely healer schools? I've not played a squishy caster yet.

What you're referring to above seem to be damage types? I'm confuuuuused. (And also interested.)

Re: Spells are what school?

I guess my question is more towards Foci...

What's considered a physical spell? a mental spell? etc.

I just don't want to drop the cash on a foci and be all happy sporting it and then have someone one say, 'dude, that doesn't work for your spells.'

Happened once in FFXI. I was shattered. Took me many months to recover. True story. Yep.

Re: Spells are what school?

Just read its damage type, the spell will say something like "...deals 51 - 60 mental damage." or something like that. That'll mean its a mental spell. Spells that only inflict status effects can't have damage increased so it doesn't really matter. Of course, I haven't seen any foci that do anything other than increase damage.

Rolled a Sorc. the other day for fun on Thestra (Human), and I agree that those are the schools -- casting the ring spell increased conjuration, and the ice thing Evocation.
