Veiled Griffons Attacking?
Can anyone please tell me why I keep getting attacked by Veiled Griffons?
I have no idea what I did to turn them against me. it hasn't always happened, just started recently. Was it a quest? Thanks in advance |

If you mean by meadow lake...they do it all the time...fly over at 20,000 feet and with laser vision spot anyone unable to defend themselves against a lv 30 mob as well as being too slow to run away and zzzoooooommmmm, another few hundred exp loss as you view the world from beside its last meal. Personally i suspect its sloppy pathing by the devs but i know where they live...the griffons not the devs. And in a mere 12 lvls or so i will exact a slow and painful revenge upon them involving a secret blend of herbs and spices, along with a lot of grease and a free side dish....
 p.s. i also found where their brooding grounds are....mwahahahahahaha

Some one told me it's because of a quest to the Fallen Star.
Is that where they live? Please let me know where they are, I have a score to settle with them! 3 Attacks in less that 2 hours! They attacked me on the road the Bordinars Cleft also! |

Look on the map for the loop of road near the dam (Khelgors end is up there) they live to the south side of the point of the loop....RIGHT BY THE ROAD so careful. The brooding grounds are past the quarry near renton keep...lower level birds there.

Yes I've been attacked by them.
I (level 10 cleric) was riding on horseback along the road when a griffon sneaked up behind and attacked. I was at my last 5% of health when I slapped on my trusty ward and escaped. =P |

This is not sloppy pathing by the devs. This is no doubt working as intended. Random gankings by high level mobs happen elsewhere also, anyone run into Foulsprig in sub 10 area of Leth Nurae?
This gives the game a bit of spice, keeps you on your toes. There is even a Diplomacy line in Three Rivers that talks about the random attacks by the Veil Griffons. |

Yeah when I was doing the questing near the lake there I got nailed 3 times in that days session. Was getting 'fly by's' near Three Rivers bugbear caves yesterday luckily there were slower peasants closer and apparently more tasty in appearance.
