HP & Mana Regen

Just curious how the health and mana regen will work in this game, i hope you dont have to be "sitting" down to recover mana like in eq that got a little irritating after a while...especially if any of you remember the spell book being kept open while regening mana up untill level 35 and then after you didnt need it to be open...thank god they changed it! But i mean i hope hp and mana regen will be alot better then in some MMO's it takes forever to get ready for the next battle.

Re: HP & Mana Regen

I voted for all four. I hated needing to kneel regenerate at all in FFXI. It killed dungeon crawling, forced camping, and led to end game groups being divided into melee groups and black mage groups.

I voted for all of them as well, they wouldn't have to be big regen effects, just something to boost your regen. I still think you should have to sit down for a small bit, not too long, cause it does make sense to have to rest after fighting, but since it is a game have little things that can enhance your regen ability to speed it up so you can get back to playing the game since thats why we're here, not to spend half the time or more recovering from fighting.

This can easily be taken too far. Downtime is an opportunity to get to know the people you're playing with. It was a rare occasion in WoW that I had time to talk to anyone about anything other than what I was pulling, or a tactic for something particularly nasty.

Nill i think your reading too much into this statement. i played wow too and i had plenty of time to talk while pulling healing and replying to tells, that was being a troll priest with food and water. So im not sure why you didnt have the same chance to do that, maybe you should look into getting vent or TS?

I chatted plenty with my friends over TS, but that had nothing to do with meeting people in pick-up groups and the like.

As far why you had more downtime than I did, maybe I'm just better (Joking, joking!)

OMG nill you have no idea some of the downtimes i had to endure some nights. When your tank fights in defensive stance with a 2 hander, and your burning all your mana on him and a rogue who keeps stealing aggro from the war and a mage who runs around AOE' lol ive had large amounts of downtimes due to teamates like that >_<. They should make an "easy" button for some people i think lol

The guy who played the healer I usually ran around with had a pretty simple answer to fools that over-aggro: Let them die. Usually, after the 2nd or 3rd death, they'd stop.

We never had to deal with the 2h warrior plague, as I was the warrior, and I could usually keep the rogue up, but there was no help for the massive-AOE mage.

Yeah your lucky, i was the priest i had the same motto, if you burn my mana for no reason i let you die lol..unfortunately after the 3rd time i let them die because they were wasting everyones time, they would get all mad and just randomly aggro mobs and pull them to us hoping we would die in the process, went through so many hunters that way..i dont know why people wanted to do that but its one of the reasons i left..that and i never found a good guild in that game, most people just wanted to be geared out and blew you off for raids >_< although BG's were fun as long as honor farming wasnt occuring.

Re: HP & Mana Regen

All, downtime sucks. People say it gives you time to socialize and form strategies.. But if you need downtime to force you to do those things, then that's a different problem.

If I had to pick just one though, i'd go with spells and abilities.
