Berserkers
The Berserker class is mentioned under offensive fighters on the vanguard website, however it is not posted here on this site as being a class at all. do you all know something that your not telling us? I just thought it funny is all. I know a few of my friends that were looking forward to playing that class.
I however think that I will stray from the tanking type in this game from the beginning. I have played both guardian and berserker, and truly I do know how bad I am at tanking. So I think I may go bard this time around. |

Re: Berserkers
Sigil would rather get a class right and then put them in.
The berserker class sounds like a very tricky class to get right due to needing to go low on health in order to dish out some nice damage while in melee range. Say, there is a raid of fifty going deep inside a dungeon to take on a dragon, so when the raid finally get to the dragon, the berserkers go low on health to do some damage and then the dragon does an area of effect damage spell, which would then kill the berserkers real quick. The healers can heal them and then the berserker can refuse it and keep that heal for another time and thus stay low on health. About non-tanks managing to get low on health while not tanking, they get an ability to bleed themselves in order to get low on health. That is one of the reason I do not want to play berserkers as I do not wish to die by getting one shotted all the time. P.S. Nothing is set in stone yet. |

Re: Berserkers
There is some information and quotes from the developers on the vanguard wiki.
If you have not come across it, then check it out via this link http://wiki.silkyvenom.com/index.php/Main_Page The berserker page also includes Taliskar’s quote about the possible omission of the class at launch. I see your point about higher armor and them being able to take a good hit, it is just the way the developers talk, that makes me want to avoid the class. Just not my style of playing, I suppose. Re: Berserkers
My thoughts on a Berserker class
Beserkers go into "Auto pilot" in Battle someimes described as a red mist. They are a danger to friends and foe hitting out at any that comes within range. They do not feel damage to themselves, rather like badley injured motorists who walk away from car crashes unaware of their condition. Its a form of Shock. Beserkers should upon entering the berserk state gain extra hit points for the duration of their berserk Rage. once the action is over the extra hit points disappear which can be fatal unless there is sufficent healing available. Other bonuses may be enhanced during the rage and a berserkers spells buffs and debuffs should harden the body, increase the amount of hit points and increase the enemies fear of facing the beserker. Because the berserker is unaware of thier other group members while in a rage they cannot assist the group with buffs or other spells during combat. |
