Re: Poll: Raid Size!

I would like to see the number somewhere north of 38. In EQ we would have 15 to 20 sitting outside a 72 man raid and in WOW we usually have between 10 and 20 sitting outside waiting and complaining about not being able to get into the raid....

Of course you always have the DKP free bes that love to sit on thier arse and get free DKP until we get to a zone they need something....

Re: Poll: Raid Size!

I like the idea of a smaller raid. I've only raided in games that required a massive amount of people to complete, it would be nice to see the scaled down version of that. Plus each person plays an even bigger role than before as compared to "healer #7 in the rotation" or "bard 4".

Re: Poll: Raid Size!

As a raid leader, I prefer the <=24 person raid. Still pretty much a tight knit group, easier to control/quiet down/direct, but still enough power to make a dent in something. Funstuff.

Re: Poll: Raid Size!

20-25. If you have a required raid size of 40-50 you could possibly have raid nights cancelled due to not enough guild members online. It happened to us before in WoW.

20-25 is perfect, easier to make sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to. If not, they will stand out a lot more in a smaller raid. Plus you will get loot more frequently with less people

This is the latest info I could find. Hope it helps. Til Then.

i prefer smaller raids... large ones get soo confusing... however they are fun every once in a while, i think they should have all sizes of raids.

I can agree with this.

I dunno though, sometimes the larger raids just feel more epic.

Re: Poll: Raid Size!

I have never seen a RAID encounter that was significantly more interesting or fun because it required more than 24 participants. For that matter I haven't seen one that was really what I would consider more difficult other than the aspect of managing more people. Larger raids can work fine and be fun, they just have more potential headaches without more potential fun than smaller raids. More dev time is often put into the larger raids though, which hides this a bit but I still stand by it. I can see a certain attractiveness to large raids from a game dev standpoint though. If you can spend X hours creating a raid encounter and can choose for that encounter to tie up 20 people, 40 people or 60 people you will get the most return for your hour by keepign 60 people busy. Assuming you can keep 60 people interested for the same amount of time, or that 3 groups of 20 could not run the encounter instead.

That's a good point; I guess it will depend on how the raid content shapes up.

Re: Poll: Raid Size!

I am undecided still. There are some very good arguments here for several numbers. I guess if there will be a need to take diplo's and crafters into the raid then more then 24 is needed would be my thinking which doesn't mean spit untill I see a raid in game.
