Poll: Raid Size!

I selected 54+ for raiding group size and I will explain why.

1)I don't believe it is fun or adds to the guild interacting with the other players on the server by have raids that last 4+ hours.

2)like others have mentioned, the people that want time for RL functions are always going to get hurt (and then quit) because lost raid points.

3)other things in the game beside raiding like diplomacy quests, crafting, harvesting, adventuring or just hanging out with people and exploring are designed to be FUN.

4)I will always want a raid group to be as large as possible to cut down on two things.
(a) time
(b) failure to receive items

During your first year in Vanguard all you do 70% of your time is raid, raid , raid; and then Sigil comes out with a expansion that outdates your raiding gear. Can you honestly say "I was cheated and I feel like I have wasted all my time?"

I personally liked the very large raids from EQ1, It required allot of people to work together from allot of different guilds. I hate this raid experience where if your not in a guild you can't enjoy the large raid content. With some of these guilds being able to pull enough people together from there own guild they dont want help from others. with a large 50+ raid group, you almost have to assume that they will have to except those from smaller guilds and solo unguilded people. It will allow for guilds to come together more often and make alliances.

I like the idea of large 50+ raids.. Though not so much for the personal involvment. My raiding experience has been limited to eq2 (though in swg a full group was 20 people so that was sorta raiding heh) and it was a blast.. But honestly i'd rather just keep it to 12 if possible. From what i've read, there will be raids for 2 groups in Vanguard (or maybe I read that on another games site) but as long as there are huge raids going on, that's where the uber loot is, and i'm the competitive sort so i'll be going that route no doubt.

Thing I don't like about raiding is the time you have to invest nightly to do it.. It's not just about the 3+ hours you have to put into the raid (6+ if it's your first go sometimes) but the fact that you typically do it 5 nights a week. Need to if you want to take advantage of all the content you can, plus get everyone decent amounts of drp. There's a chance i'll just stick to single group stuff, really depends on how the game unfolds.

Put my vote for 18-24.

18 to 24 works well for me since it lets smaller guild still be able to raid and the larger ones can go do a few different things in the same night.

I like a smaller raid size. I don't mind the bigger 50+ person raids but I would definantly prefer that they are smaller.

I'm hoping that there will be more than one "raid size".

It would be nice to have Raids that small and large guilds can have fun with. I myself am part of a small guild, and in most games, we never had enough players in the guild to do any of the fun raids.

Another thing, Large raids in most games right now are very laggy If VG can overcome the lag problem with many players in one area, huge raids are very fun to me.

I like the different personalities! In a large raid more toons = much more interesting.

I Like it like the EqLive days, the massive amounts of people but then again Eq2 was alright but i like large large raids but the only problem i doubt that you will be able to have such large raids because of the graphics the game runs on, like its a changed up unreal engine, so it would be somewhat hard to handle depending on what system people have and the server

I'm more into smaller raids personally. Less lag and confusion for everyone usually.
