This means that there won't be a super-rare item that can be dropped by a .01% chance off of 20-30 different mobs. Additionally, named creatures or bosses won't have a shared loot table.

I like the idea of the weekly, monthly, annual event. One thing that really p.o.'d me about some games is that certain items would be classified as Legendary. But then every player on the server was running around with them, all of them.

If an item is legendary, then your character should be lucky to have just one of those. Not a whole inventory full of them.

I am a bit disappointed at this, the tiny chance of getting a good drop is a good motivator.

When Playing Helbreath a Korean PvP MMORPG I used to relax by attacking a snake pit for drops in the hope of getting a valuable neckless, a 1:10,000 drop, the other trash dropped provided a bit of pocket money. The spawn rate ensured that this bit of casual farming never limited low level players fun. In fact you spent almost as much time saving them from snake swarms and noobe gankers as killing snakes. (I was level 120 the snakes level 20).

That's always the part I severely disliked about Korean-style MMOs :\ I want my good stuff to come from a challenge, not mindless grinding.

It might just because it was my first MMORPG but I enjoyed the grind in Helbreath more than any game since. To have a full set of skills at 100% and to be one of the very few capped players generated respect and awe not seen in western games. What stands out now was the fights against massive swarms involving hundreds of mobs of all levels, truely epic encounters only possible in isometric games with full collision detection. It will be a while before true 3d games can emulate them. Never since have I been left sweating and shaking from the adenaline level after extended battles.

Its a shame that hackers,spammers, cheats and con artist plus nonexistant customer service eventually ruined the game.

Con artists? Did you get get caught? *grin* Generally, i'm really careful about who I trust in an MMORPG in some regards, other times I would just go all out. In an MMORPG, if I have someone trying to talk me into buying an item, I usually give up as he is possibly trying to rip me off. Normally if you don't offer what they want they just find another buyer who will pay it, it's when they argue with you that you need to watch out.

"Come on man, it's really rare - buy it!!" (i'm spending so much time trying to convince you because I know noone else will buy it at this price!)
