Re: CORE players

Hehe no not expected soon. We just got married! We're going to have a year to ourselves before we start trying to have kids.

But for the record game world and game site dont sit in the same category when it comes to having to cut back. Playing a game 30-40 hours a week is hard to do when you have a newborn since they both need 100% attention for long periods of time to handle properly. Running a site such as this one may take 30-40 hours a week (once it gets rolling) but its time that can be shared with my career (when its not lease return year like it is this year)

Re: CORE players

It is really tough when you have kids. Just the couple hours here and there that I spend surfing forums about the game is driving my wife crazy already.

She is so far away from getting into any gaming, D&D type of thing. She still has that girl mentality D&D is stupid thing from grade school.

But she understands that and I understand her and she understands me. So I hope to get a good 10 hours per week and sometimes up to 20+ if I take a few sick leave days.

Especially shortly after launch. And it just gets worse since usually, you spend your time staring at the "server down" message.

Hopefully, VG will have a stable launch, since, ya know, they've been developing this for what, 20 years now?

Re: CORE players

It better be stable...With the dramatic hit my grades will be taking when Vanguard comes out I'm gonna need to feel like it was worth it.

Hey now Don't go predicting that kind of stuff haha. Grades should definately come first. Ideally, anyways.

Re: CORE players

I average when in full swing prolly 5 or 6 hours a night and most times 8 to 12 hours on saturday and sunday. Long weekends even more, but beleive me when i say....I'm pretty far from a hard core player when you truly look at what I do in these games. I spend more time messing around looking at the scenery than i do actually gaining lvls. I'm not one to blow past all the content in a game to get to the top lvl's. And alot of my gaming friends constantly are screaming at me to get out of the crafting area's or stop messing around looking for that when you could be doing this. So it's going ot be interesting to see what this game brings out in me as a whole. I hate missing anything, so with so many ways to gain in lvl i may be doing alot of things all at once.

I heard nothing new when Brad had to reiterate what his vision of a core gamer is so I voted happy bunny!

Good poll. Glad to see the polling feature being used well.
Having a child will decrease your play time......we just had our first (and ONLY!) child 4 months ago. He is great and I cannot wait until he can entertain himself by watching me play Vanguard... heh, JK!!

I for one am a casual gamer. With my work schedule, property, building a house and family life; I don't have lots of time to devote per day to MMORPG's anymore. I do enjoy MMORPG's though and will find/make time for Vanguard!
