Would you say happy bunny > hardcore > core player?

Re: CORE players

I suspect I'm a core gamer as well, though it's been so long that I've found a game that brought it out of me that I'm not so sure anymore.

It does sound that while the game might be aimed towards core gamers, there still will be challenges for people who consider themselves hardcore. It's just that (I hope) the devs won't be focusing on their concerns demands at the expense of the concerns of the core gamers. Content won't be balanced for them (I hope).

Re: CORE players

We will see when the expansions arrive. If all they provide is more higher end content then we know which way the game is heading.

Re: CORE players

That message was great for me. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to play at all. Even 3-5 hours is quite a bit of time for me to find in one sitting. I'm lucky to get 2. So, I'm below Core, but can probably still play.

Re: CORE players

Well even if you can find 3-5 hours daily, I imagine you'd go places pretty fast

Re: CORE players

I am a happy bunny.

One of the reasons that my interest in WoW is declining is that time spent really does mean more than skill.

For example, the PvP Honor system (haha, talk about honor...) in WoW is a huge time sink once you get to, say, rank 10. From then on, well, at least on my server, you'd have to dedicate your life to playing and PvP'ing for months to reach the highest rank.

I'll have lots of time to play V:SoH, but hopefully that means I'll be a better player and not just have better gear because I have more time to "waste".

Re: CORE players

This announcement is music to my ears. First of all, I'm ready to slow down a bit. I have been playing MMOs and/or shooters competitively for 6 years now (starting with EQ). I've been fortunate enough to be successful in most of my endeavors so far, but I'm really at a point now where having a more relaxed MMO atmosphere is ideal.

Another important thing about this statement is that it shows what kind of content we can expect to see. I would gather that instead of nonstop high intensity raiding dungeons, we will be exploring vast continents, forging our own paths as we see fit. I really think that this kind of pacing is more fitting to an MMO and I look forward to experiencing it.

Well even then, if you spend more time playing Vanguard, you will probably go on more raids, which still means more gear. However, i'm hoping skill in Vanguard can overcome the unbalance in gear. (For instance timing your abilities right/doing the right combo's)

Re: CORE players

Skill will definitely be important in V:SoH, along with appropriate gear.

Also, keep in mind that I am/was a European playing on an American server facing a six hour time discrepancy - certainly doesn't make raiding any easier, hehe.

Re: CORE players

Well, it could, seeing as how the outdoor bosses always spawned at like 2AM our time, LOL!
