Re: CORE players
Well, even as a hardcore player still need some people that are less than hardcore as you because otherwise who would be there to make you feel special?

Re: CORE players
That isn't exactly true. You can be hardcore in a single player game as well. A hardcore player playing a single player game is the kind of person who doesn't stop until they have done everything and mastered everything and have the best of everything etc. The hardcore strive to achieve the "perfect save" even it takes them 100s of hours to do so.

Re: CORE players
The arguments over the definition of hardcore/power player v Casual player have raged on the Vanguard boards for years. I suspect there are as many definitions as players.
My definition is that some players are driven to excel. They dont only want to be the first to achieve something but they want that something to be beyond the ability of "average" players. They crave fame and admiration. As to Casual I take a different slant on that as well. I see casual more as a state of mind than the number of hours a player can put in. The guy who gives their character a thoughtless name, who mucks about spamming the channels, who asks stupid questions rather than being bothered to think and begs for cash or items rather than work for them. Its the guy who cant be bothered to understand their class or finds chatting with friends at home more interesting than the group they are supposed to be healing. |

Re: CORE players
Well, still, to me a hardcore player is someone who will go above and beyond what a casual player will do hands down. In addition, I generally see hardcore players putting in more time than casuals.
