Race/class list from CrimsonWind writeup
I posted this at one other site, but I have to spread the joy, since no one else has beat me to the punch yet.
Someone from Fanguard finally took the time to write this down. I've been waiting for this information ever since someone hinted that the race/class combos were visible at the char-creation screen. I can be a Raki Disciple! Reprinted from http://www.crimsonwind.net/viewtopic...asc&&star t=0 Oh, and other tidbits of interest in that post...the barbarians have names. Great list. Thanks for pointing it out Foxeye. I've asked for permission to format it into a matrix and will get it up on the site if I get clearance.

Nice list but I imagine that it's subject to change between now and launch.
DK is Dread Knight right? So High Elves can be dread knights? That was unexpected.

And there's the fact that they've said that humans are the largest race that can be paladins, yet lesser giants are listed.
I'd guess the list is something like 80% accurate. Still, it gives us some ideas of their direction. Like the Kurashasa...from the look of that list, they are mean, unfriendly kitties. Possibly evil kitties. O_O |

Niiiice
Well from that list... I'd say I would be in debate between a Halfling Bard, OR a Raki Monk or Bard... Decisions, decisions. Of course, I'll most likely have to give 'em all a play to see what I like in how they're implemented But those are my gut reactions...Edit: And by the way Foxeye, I just wanted to let you know that at Fanguard I got a chance to talk about the animal races quite a deal with Jeff Butler. And he too is an advocate for what you were pushing for so long in EQ2 regarding making those races look authentic and varied depending on their referring animal's characteristics. I didn't include it in my post, but they're all undergoing tweaks that will let creation not only benefit from those unique non-humanoid quirks in the facial areas, but to make them much better related. 'Course that's just words, but it's better than silence I was extremely impressed when I was able to make a lithe and skinny Raki, much more akin to a fox than the "humanoid" staples that were in earlier screenshots.

Cobalt, you are my HERO! And so is Jeff. *raises her coffee mug to Jeff* I was wondering, after I heard about the changes for Vulmane, if the Raki and Kura would get similar thoughtful attention. It sounds like they just might.
Huzzah! I'm a happy camper. Oh, how *tall* were the Raki? That's excellent news that they were lithe and skinny. Very excellent. Edit: I should have remembered you liked the raki as well, based on that hair of yours. Is that stuff natural? That is some darned vivid hair you have. My red has stayed red as I age, but I've never been quite so bright. |

Re: Race/class list from CrimsonWind writeup
I don't think they ever said it was restricted to Qalia, Arctic_Slicer. I believe they only said it was NOT in Thestra, and at the time they first said this there was no announcement of Kojan. Hence, folks assumed it was Qalia-only.

An interesting story about Jeff's character: He originally made... I think it was a male Orc Dread Knight. Some mischief-prone folks at Sigil went into the database overnight and changed him to a female Raki, and his name to SGO Furry, just to tick him off. It was a good laugh, and despite changing his name back, he stuck with the race. Quote:
I get flack on both sides: to let it grow out or cut it haha, so I'm just leaving it as-is for now. I'll probably cut it shorter once Seattle starts warming up for the summer though.
