hmm looks like Sigil is doing what other companies have done. . .introduce the better more interesting classes, if you pay, when they finally decide to release it.

All in all, we have heard that their mindset on other things that wont make launch will be put into expansions, patches or adventure packs. They have said that with ship to ship combat and mounted combat, surely they will use good ideas they had from the beginning later on in additional content.

Strange that High Elves can be evil but Half-Elves are goodies.

I expect that we will get a long list of what will be missed out from the release version. It makes sense to keep it simple, get it stable, then slowly introduce new material month on month.

Were you around Greymain, when Brad pointed out that High Elves were based more on Melniboneans than on tolkien elves? With that in mind, High Elves as Dread Knights actually makes a heckuva lot of sense. High Elves aren't goodness and light anymore...they are probably a lot more amoral and decadent than we are used to.

That's a good part of what I like about Telon...the races/classes have flavor, but that flavor isn't necessarily drawn at the line between classic good and evil.

Re: Race/class list from CrimsonWind writeup

Well, coming from World of Warcraft where there was only eight different classes, even if they only manage to get fifteen in it's almost going to double the variety, which was a major thing for me while playing WoW, not enough class diversity because of the limited choices.

I was indeed, my point was that Half Elves traditionally are outcasts and rogues so evil classes would be natural.

Re: Race/class list from CrimsonWind writeup

I really don't think saying "Telon's Elves have flavor" is the right way to put it. Tolkien Elves had flavor as well but I think the real problem is that they are using the same done-to-death character races instead of creating more unique ones that fit better within the flavor and lore of the game world. There is nothing wrong with using Elves but when designing a world it is probabally better to only include them if they within the world instead of crafting the world to fit them.

I won't look at high elves the same way ... and why not 'try' to play one as a DK, instead of a DE (sounds hard to do, but possible).
makes me remember Hawkmoon and Elric, and think to a High elf background
