PVPers don't lurk the forums?

Ironic, it is the PvP oriented folk which trash talk, though the only one who has came close on the PvP section of these forums was you.

I think the reason that there has not been a lot of lurking, or posting is due to the fact that the servers have only been up 3-4 days, disregarding down time.

I guess I'm going to have to get used to reactions like yours, as the topic of PvP is inevitably going to end up in the EQ v WoW DAoC debate.

Yeah I know it was a fairly sweeping generalisation, but have you seen any reasonable PvPers post on forums? I personally haven't.

While I will defend the right of other players to engage in PvP gameplay, all the games I have played where PvP was developed ended up breaking PvE gameplay on the whims of the PvP enthusiast minority - Anarchy Online being a significant example of such, it later also fell to the uber loot hunting camp. Having to rely on no service charge to regain a playerbase worth shouting about.

In WoW and DAoC PvP was a huge part of the game, and it seemed to compliment PvE very well. Albeit, PvP does tend to attract the "1337" 13 year old fan boys, if it is done well, and thoughtfully by Sigil it could bring a lot to the game.

I enjoy pvping but I also like to be a part of the community of a server. Right now its difficult with all the senseless killing coming even from my own guild. Its insane tonight we were grouped in the temple and we were killing mobs making great exp when one player runs past us and everyone runs to chase him trainning many mobs on top of themselves. Hence we died to the mobs. I hope the novelty of killing everything that walks by dies down soon.
I still have hope that there is some normal individuals that rolled on this server because it does add a completely different element to the game. I find myself always staying alert and scanning the horizons when im running around.

I only heard the stories about rz I played eq1 on povar and missed out on the pvp experience. My reasoning for staying is that its a brand new server and theres a lot of opportunites still open for me to go. Also I have a feeling I would regret going pve as I would miss out on the good and bad times.

I did notice on the vanguard servers forum they already have guys posting kill shots and such on there
