All of which is true. However, I have to admit I'm just a little tired of the endless "it must be at your end" responses we get from games companies. I've done what I consider reasonable to fix issues at my end (short of a hardware update); I've had these issues since last September, when they suddenly started from one beta patch to the next. Part of it is my setup, for sure; but there are some serious issues with the client and if I have to post 20 client logs a day that's what I'll do -- if only so that in a few months some whiny tech can't turn around and say "but you never told us!"

I'm posting my client logs out of stubbornness, and a sense that nobody is reading them anyway so it doesn't do any harm.

If anything makes me quit Vanguard it won't be the many glaring bugs, it'll be the consistently AWFUL performance.

Apologies. I'm having a bitter morning. I will resume later with more standard text cut'n'pastes.

(And Dayemon, thanks for trying to help. It's not you I'm raging against, it's the machine.)

Heh, no problem man. Like I stated before, no other game has done this to me. So I agree completely with your arguement.

Maybe you should start the thread within the official SOE forums as well for better visibility by the SOE team? Given the recient company changes, that may be a better place to put the error logs. Two places is always better than one!

There are several threads at the now official forums on the subject. The same errors in the log. All different cards, OS's and it seems the TSR's are telling each person something different. Some are told its a VG memory leak. I was told the Uber_shader in my video card was bad and needed a new card.. this after i jumped through hoops following up suggestions.
I never had a CTD before the last patch. People will say that doesn't mean much but it just seems awful coincidental to me.

Something that so far has worked for me on CTD. It didn't solve all of them but it did cut the number down alot. There were some places that everytime I went there I had a very high chance of CTD. I tried a lot of ideas, but one that eventually seemed to have worked is changing the texture quality. I know it doesn't seem like it would work, but I crashed more often on the lower settings than the lower medium settings. I finally settled on the medium low setting and those areas where I was crashing all the time I can go to without crashing.

I moved the setting to one of the low settings, don't remember which one now, and I crashed almost immediately. It seems like the texture quality causes crashes in some areas while trying to render a mesh. Anyway, tossing out this a another idea.

Thanks Kulak! I'm going to try that at least on hubby's machine - since some patch about 6 weeks ago or so, he *cannot* log in to Lomshir anymore. He'll crash - sometimes within 15 seconds, sometimes it takes a few minutes, but it's guaranteed. I'll check his settings and see if what we think was a patch effect was us changing some settings around the same time.

No comment. Just extreme tiredness of this eternal crashing. Nice big buggy error laden log that, in all probablility, nobody will ever look at. If I could muster the energy, I'd care. /shrug
