Re: The Test Server Economy

I send stuff COD shipping if I offer it over /test.

If I broker it I just use a simple formula for item level. Quality * 100 * item level - in copper. So a level 10 green item goes for 1 silver, a level 14 blue item goes for 2.8 silver.

Of course if high prices continue on the broker I'll have to raise my rates so I can afford to actually buy stuff off players...

Re: The Test Server Economy

Do easy WOs for crafting you can still make a decent amount of money that way. Plus we need the crafters.

As some one pointed out in /test a lot of the stuff on the brokers is from beta days. Maybe we can get Sigil to wipe the brokers in one of the patch cycles so we can start fresh with the correct prices for our economy. Al though if we do that with only 40 people on the test server we should probably pick one continents brokers to use.

That reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask, but which is probably already answered -- does stuff on the broker ever unlist? It's something I'd like to see, if only to get rid of the stuff people put up just before they stopped playing, or whatever. Not sure what I'd suggest as a reasonable delay, but having goods on there forever seems a bit extreme.

I could argue either way on this. I wasn't all that happy with the SWG broker that had a time limit (perhaps it was just too short). But on the other hand, it does make some sense that a broker doesn't have infinite warehouse space.

What is the problem (in general, ignoring the beta vs TS issue) of having stuff stay forever? I know having a whole passel of overpriced stuff showing up is a bit of annoying and maybe we need better sorting tools so that we can more easily ignore them; however, is it more than that?

Re: The Test Server Economy

Normally it isn't a problem with stuff staying on the broker forever like I think it does in VG, but the beta economy it totally different that what Test Server economy is not. And those beta economy prices are confusing people coming on to the server.

Re: The Test Server Economy

Other than what Venti said, no real problem. Another minor one might be that stuff stays listed even if a char is deleted - but I don't know if that's the case or not, and presume it isn't.

Part of my neat side would like to see *some* kind of time limit. Doesn't have to be a short one like it was in SWG (and yes, those were a massive PITA), but just plain having one would "clean house" now and then on defunct (for whatever reason) listings.

That said, paying money to someone who doesn't exist anymore has got to be one of the better money sinks out there.

Re: The Test Server Economy

I'm more of the type that sells based on what I think people will pay and I also take my level into account.. if I'm getting a lot of a certain item the price keeps dropping. If I have lots of something its cheaper. Also something that I would charge 2 silvers for this week might be 8 coppers next month after I gain a few levels and it doesn't seem so important anymore.
