Maybe i missed something here ....
I read the BOE/BOP addition while this doesnt bother me either way one of the reasons given for this change is to affect the economy(putting it back on track to what was expected is the way i read it maybe i am wrong). Now what i cant figure out is then you put in anyone can deconstruct so now you have a catch 22 on the economy player A get a yellow item BOE now unless all crafters are adventurers (note to self game launch no need to be both spheres can be jsut a crafter) then you have just taken away a way crafters that were not adventurers could get decons for dusts. Now by my reckoning these items wont be on the market for them but dusts my god they will be on there at an over inflated prices for anything rare so my problem with this way of doing things is you are taking items out to sort the economy and will now just replace items with dusts as stupid prices i can not see how you have changed anything here except screwing over the solo crafters ...

Re: Maybe i missed something here ....
Aye, but as has been pointed out elsewhere, crafters before had a chance to get some of those Rary McRare dusts by themselves (well, by buying the rare item and deconning it) - under the current system, isn't there a much greater chance that those same rare dusts will be earmarked by the people who decon them? If you extrapolate a little from that, I can see a situation where crafters could become seen as assembly-monkeys for the folks with the dusts.
I'm speculating, of course, and on a worst-case (to me as a crafter) scenario where my off-the-bat stuff would be totally unwanted and I'd be seen purely as a "put it together" person. That said, this isn't entirely out of left-field - there was a similar trend a few years back in SWG where people would get blueprints and the mats to make whatever was on the blueprint, and would then approach crafters to make them. Most folks were nice enough - a growing number, however, tended to treat both me and a lot of other crafters I knew pretty cavalierly. "I have the stuff, make me my stuff, you're just a crafter." That said, this us-vs-them attitude has been common since there's been crafting in games, and it would really be a stretch (even by a debate-lover like me) to attribute it purely to one game mechanic or another; I think some folks just distrust whoever is on the other side of the fence. I'm speculating because Test is down and I'm sort of waiting on the merge before I do much on live, if at all. We'll see what happens. I'm still very ambivalent about BoE and anyone-decon-anything, but then I also tend to be ambivalent about any sweeping change until we've had a chance to see how much the boat gets rocked. I don't mind changes, and I know they're essential to the health of any game, but huge sweeping tsunami-ones can take a while to get used to. For the love of god, get Test back up before I hit the speculation-stratosphere! ![]()

Re: Maybe i missed something here ....
Himmel while dusts only have one usage that is the problem that makes them golddust to be brought and sold as such therefore creating an over inflated market again... and gold sellers omg you are giving them license to farm areas to decon to make cash still its a viscious process that has no real advantage that i can see.
Try purging the white trash database and 20% of the dropped items. Maybe then more items will be used and getting an item might mean something ... even better itemize what you have least then you can figure out a way to cut back on trash drops ![]() Frerra 47 tailor Healsrus 50 cleric (war affinity) 50 armorsmith Miyzia 50 druid |

two can play that price game hehe adventurers driving up prices cause they are way too greedy is not Sony's fault. that is something the community has to work out itself. not paying the prices or just raising your own way high cause of it are two good messages to send about how you feel about the high prices, if they happen. |

Re: Maybe i missed something here ....
Hehehe i was so waiting for that reply though i was hoping himmel would walk into my little trap
See problem is if gold sellers have the areas most camped the dusts will mainly come from them at silly prices so really its screwing over the adventurer and the crafter as far as pricing goes and it stems from gold farmers then and not from community so like i said this way is no better than the old system it looks like a quick fix imho .Frerra 47 tailor Healsrus 50 cleric (war affinity) 50 armorsmith Miyzia 50 druid |

That said, I have seen the EQ2 economy work pretty well when spells and other stuff required harvested rares that anyone could get. There were some on the market at "reasonable" prices and most crafters would charge a reasonable (to both parties) fee for the combine when using a customer's rare item (in fact, EQ2 now has a secure crafting window that allows the customer to provide rare and non-rare raws to the crafting process without losing control of them).

Re: Maybe i missed something here ....
ok here is the deal. I will make a big boat with some help. we take it into the open seas full of sharks. with all the gold sellers on board and make em walk the plank arrrrrr
LOL hopefully once Sony is ready to bring the serverside filtering to Vanguard, please oh please, it will lessen at least the spam from the sellers and maybe slow them down. maybe even logs could be made on the server from the spam filtering that would better help Sony track down the sellers. ![]() |
