Ya know, I've just about had it with VG..
You know what's odd...I could run VG fine on balanced settings on my old comp..P4 3 gig processer, 1 gig RAM and ATI X800 card. Havent logged in for a month,, now on my new machine, dual core processer, 4 gigs RAM and a Geforce 8600 GTS OC card I can hardly move, and if I lower the resolution (monitor's native res is 1680 x 1050) it runs a LITTLE better but looks like crap, my framerates vary from 3 to 12, a little bit more inside. And no matter what, NPC names cannot be seen. or if so only partially. All virus/spyware/other programs have been disabled. I'd feel ripped off spending all the money on this new computer except I do use it for other things.
They need to address performance issues or the game is doomed. I've almost given up. |

Re: Ya know, I've just about had it with VG..
Not sure what's wrong! My other half runs much the same system with no issues, for the most part!! He's having a wonderful time, except that people leave the guild he took over for someone else who left, and that hurts a lot of people.
I don't understand what's happening and why some people seem to be having issues and others don't. I have half the system my husband does and don't crash. Some lag, yes, but nothing that cripples my playing, really. Not as bad as LotR, actually. Strange, isn't it? What are your settings on, and yes..your OS, as well!

Re: Ya know, I've just about had it with VG..
I'm itching to build a new comp but with all the problems I have seen I'm sticking with my aging rig until I hear better news. I won't be using Vista, don't see the need but again hear about all the problems.

Re: Ya know, I've just about had it with VG..
Hm at first I thought it could be an issue with your 32 bit OS not supporting 4GB of RAM, (XP 32 didn't) but Vista does support 4GB.
www.buildyourown.org.uk Check in there; we'll be of great help.
