I was SOOO happy that it was NOT posted here until now. it's a rumor and only a rumor. It's been around for almost a week with nothing, then someone on TTH has to post it in the news, (saying it's rumor) but you post something in the news you are pretty much saying its fact. Now everyone thinks it's true and the end of the world is coming. It's stupid, all it has done is caused people to panic and freak out over something that is a rumor with NO credible source.

I lost my last ounce of respect for that admin at TTH over this, she holds alot of power with the words she says and instead of assisting and helping keep everyone calm, she causes everyone to panic. It's kinda like walking into a huge building, someone tells you "I think I smelled some smoke yesterday and I had a dream that the place is burning down" then you start screaming that this person said there was a fire. The only thing you do is cause a panic based on rumor.

We're asking that this be set to the side and not become something that flames are made of.

I think everyone knows about this by now, so let's let it rest here on Spheres. I've asked the staff to keep this from becoming an issue on our site. Rumor and speculation are just that, and there is no basis. We deal in facts, not supposition. So, please...for us and the others who prefer not to get into the fire fights, let's let it die here.

If and when the time comes, we'll talk about Sigil's response to this, but in a friendly and informed manner.

I didn't intend it to be any more than reporting a rumor. Obviously it is not fact unless Sigil/Sony say so. And with all the VG bashing I suspect it to be BS

It's pretty weak that anyone at Ten Ton Hammer would post that rumour as news to be honest. As has already been said its been around for a while now and until there's evidence to go along with it, you may as well throw it on the pile of other crap people post because they hate Vanguard.

I'd like to chime in on this realy quick folks. The staff of Vanguard Spheres decided to not post this in our news as other sites have decided to but we strongly feel that its completely within the rights of any site to handle rumors as they see fit. Even if we dont agree with their reasoning and/or ethics on the situation that doesnt mean we need to beat up someone who holds a different opinion on the situation. That includes the staff of a fellow affiliate site.

In summary, if you'd like to discuss this topic here on our boards you're free to do so, we have no interest in censoring sensitive content. Just please keep it clean and within the rules of our AUP which includes "no flaming". I dont feel we've gotten to that point here in this thread yet but I can see it headed that way so wanted to head it off before we derailed. Thanks.

note - I only posted this for those who wish to take part in the discussion but cannot read the rumor as written. This is in *no way* indicitive of my personal bias on this statement:

While we're not usually keen on shouting out every rumor that comes our way, there's a Vanguard rumor that seems to bear reporting. It was mentioned first (as far as we know) at Vanguard Flames:

New, current rumor is that SoE will announce next week they've agreed to buy out Vanguard from Sigil based on its declining population, since Sigil cannot afford to continue. Further information is that SoE will merge servers shortly thereafter.


Make of it what you will, folks. As we've pointed out, it's just a rumor. Sigil is not responding to the rumor at this time. We'll let you know when (and if) we learn more.

As this rumor is unsubstantiated and no comment has come from either camp about this I think it is best if we all keep our heads.
