it's amazing how 1 person can say something in a certain spot and people think it's fact.

it's because of where someone else said it is why it's so big now. That's all I'm going to say about it since I think most of you know what I'm talking about anyway and know my true feelings

It kinda reminds me of the middle school kid who tried to get people to sigh a petition to get Bihydrogen Monoxide banned. he went on spewing it's evils and how it was a major component of acid rain and erosion and blah blah blah.... and you know what - he's right! Water is a major component of BOTH of those things - yet he got the signatures on this petition because people didn't THINK. They didn't QUESTION and they definitely didn't RESEARCH.

That's why I waited until now to post - I wanted to do all of those things. Having done the research, I think this is a wonderful example on how our society works. A portion of the population is willing to let others do their thinking for them. and that is ... well... kinda frightening if you think about it

Because people let it. Frankly there's a large amount of anti-Vanguard sentiment and venom flying around out there and the bashers latched on and whipped people up into a frenzy. We all have enough things in daily life to get upset about and stress over than an unsubstantiated rumor about our favorite game.

Even if the rumor were to be true we still have far more important things to worry about than somethng like this. Cooler heads generally prevail. I think this is time to prove the old adage right again.

I dunno, people say alot of things that aren't true.

What I don't understand are all the people that are so anti-vanguard don't have anything better to do but post in the volcano and start stupid rumors. I just don't understand, whenever I get tired of a game, or burnt, I just quit playing, I don't go around on every website and post about how the game sucks, and it's gonna die, and everyone who plays it is stupid...yada yada yada.

In my own book of conspiracies I'd like to believe that this game is doing SO well, that people from other games are being paid to try and bring Vanguard down.

Well no matter what happens, or what rumors are out, or how many trolls talk shit....no matter what, I'm a Vanguard Lifer. This game is too good..... damn beautiful world sucked me in, and I am loving every minute of it.

i think you mean Dihydrogen Monoxide and yeah, i remember hearing that somewhere in california a city (somewhere near LA i think) was trying to get styrofoam banned since it included the 'horrible' chemical. well, i'd say the kid's experiment really showed how things can get hyped to extreme amounts just by getting a little media attention.

I like all the positive vibe in this forum. I also like the game very much. I really don't understand how a game like VG, with so many cool new stuff like diplomacy and intersphere content is not a huge success. We all know it had a shaky release with many bugs but the game now is Very Good until 35-40lvl and OK after 40+ (with much high lvl content coming).

It's sad really that this game had to be released in Feb and not in autumn maybe. It's main problem was never the bugs, it's the performance issues. A 6 month delay would help the hardware market to evolve some more and players would have better PCs. I feel disappointed when I enter the beautiful built city of New Targonor and it's completely empty of players.

I don't know what Sigil or SOE is planning about the future of VG, but I believe that if the game survives for 6 months to a year, it will be one of the best mmos ever. Given the things now, I find that quite hard but not impossible. It depends on how much financial patience the Devs have...


Anyway, I will definitely continue playing for some months, probably till August-September. I'll see how things are going and decide...

Yeah but if SOE gets their mucky paws all over it as far as development is concerned, it'll end up like EQ1 and EQ2. These games are "okay" but I don't want Vanguard to become like them. Plus they'll nerf the hell out of the classes, and turn my beloved cleric into an EQ2 Templar or Inq. Remember them?

I'll say it again. I hope this does not happen...
