Agreed, but given that much of the core community came to Vanguard because they wanted a difficult game, easing things up would alienate them as well - and since the people who want an easier game already heard that VG will be hardcore (whether this is true or not is debatable, but the general perception of the uninitiated is that VG is EQL with different graphics), they'll not even give it a look-see.

Do you know what they did in the BC to make it more complex? I have friends that still play, but I haven't heard anything like that - only that it takes longer to level.

All they have to do take the NPCs further away from the Alter. Problem solved.

No reason to alter the death system at all. I really like the system

Q has the right idea.

I need to find it, but I know that there was a plea by the devs/Sigil, at one point, to tell them about things like that happening so they can correct it, providing, of course, it's a goof.

Did you send them any /feedback about it or /bug it, maybe? That is one of those things that they do look for so they can correct the overly-zealous mobs that think it's an easy catch to get ya at the alter! Or even exceptionally high range aggro!

This is exactly what they need to be getting feedback about, so rather than simply complain and take another dirt bath later, let them know! Constructive suggestions are always helpful!

Wow, thats bad. Same exact thing happened to me several days ago. CTD, falling from mid air, the whole nine yards. It sucks, big time.

Whoever put that resurrection point down by the keep needs their head examined. There is a great 20ish hunting area in the north part of that zone, and it is basically dead... cause if you die you have a major PITA to deal with.

So far this is the only seriously braindead thing like this I've run into, which is saying a lot compared to other games. Still...

Just someone else who doesn't like the difficulty of the game.

1. Don't go do stuff you know you can't handle
2. Get a group if you need to
3. Really plan on what you are doing and then do it

This game doesn't need to be made any easier, I like the feeling that I may die trying to get my tombstone it gives you a feeling of doom. Everyone always wants the easy way out, not me, I know this is just a game but there is no easy way out of things in the real world either. You pay for your mistakes and you learn from them.

This has nothing to do with difficulty of game at all.

I was passing on the road, which runs through trengals keep's outer border... crash, and find myself moved in behind the walls. I didnt plan to go in there for another 5 lvls.

You are right. Didnt do it tho, but I should have. I really was frustrated at the time and chosed to use a forum thread as some sort of therepy. It did help tho, I logged in game after posting, and got some help to get outside walls again.

The problem is not with the Death system just Altar placement and agro ranges both of which can be sorted.

relocation whether as result of death, crash, Chunk boundary or teleport has serious issues that need sorting.

The only time I fell through world I magicly poped up at the local alter with no damage/missing things/etc. Weird how you all are getting bugs like that...
