City Maps?
Are there city maps anywhere?
I know there world maps and quest maps, but what about actual city maps? I get lost when I go into some of the towns (Leth Nurae is definately my least favorite city) and I'm not very fond of running all over looking for a bank etc. Am I the only one who needs a map of a city? |

Re: City Maps?
Leth Nurae is simpler than it appears. There's an entrance to the east, and one to the west. Between them the main road describes a large circle. Contents clockwise from west gate: Dragoon Barracks (north of road); Merchant Areas (both sides); long stair to plaza with Broker and mailbox - this is pretty much the "top" (north end) of the circle, if memory serves. Still going clockwise, next is the Crafters' Area; uphill stretch, plaza with the Arcane Sanctum, then the East Gate. Finally, if you keep going round, you'll go past the Royal Palace, the sluice to the waterfall, and will circle back round to the area near the west gate.
Hope that made some sense. ![]() As for maps.... I love maps, so I can't really say no to such a suggestion, though I'd hope they were rough around the edges at least visually.

Re: City Maps?
I think they didn't add city maps for a reason, that wanted to make you have to explore the world instead of pulling up a city map and just running to your location. You have to actually play the game to get to know your way around. Makes your brain have to remember where to go..

Re: City Maps?
Personally, I love exploring also, but outside the city!
In a city I get too overwhelmed and spend too much time looking around. I understand about wanting players to explore, but there could be a city map option: turn it on if you need it, off if you don't. When I go to a city, I go for a purpose, not to explore. But that's just me. Of course, I realize there are things in the city that need exploring: quests etc. But I don't see a reason why the main POI's and street maps can't be mapped: Bank, Mailbox, City Square, Vendors, Trainers (this one is a killer, hehe) etc. Besides, I'm getting old and can't remember things like I used to. Not to mention this world is HUGE! Leth Nurae and I just don't get along: 1. I ALWAYS get lost trying to get out and end up falling off a cliff to my death and winding up at that camp (can't remember the name, Sisters something?). To date: 6 deaths, 3 falling off cliff, 2 MOB's in cemetary (kaon's i think) 2. I have to return my tombstome (if I can get up high enough to reach the interface, I can never seem to walk around that alter properly) since I have no idea how to retrieve it without falling off the cliff again (endless loop). 3. So, I just jump in the river and swim untill I can get out and get to the road. Thanks for reading and responding. I know... I'm hopeless with Leth Nurae. Don't even get me started with Darhknarg. I wander in circles in the mountains. Hey, I'm not a Ranger ![]() |

Re: City Maps?
I don't know. When I first started in beta, I remember running around CB for 2hrs trying to find everything and then logging from a headache. Now, I find stuff like the back of my hand.
Lagvu I haven't explored, and BC is just huge (only spent time with the crafters though). Overall, I kinda like exploring. I get to look around and really appreciate the effort that the designers and artists put into the game. Ever look at Pankor Zhi?

Re: City Maps?
I went to New Turglwurgly or whatever its called the other day. I was looking for the woman to shift myself and a mate over to fairy land to laugh att he elves. Have you SEEN the bloomin back streets of that place? Thousands upon thousands of identical looking slums with so many objects to load my 7950 got out of my machine to thump me and complain, my ram took the 1st flight to Brazil and my cpu started to hit the bottle! There are guard there, but they are as much use as a one legged guy in an arse kicking contest!
GIVE US IN GAME CITY MAPS...if i can buy one for London, Madrid, LA, anywhere....why can't i have one for VG...explore the wilds sure, but i want to find my way in cities without spending HOURS stuck in back streets lagging like a 10 foot section of fibreglass matting in my loft! disclaimer: there may be some exageration of the numbers used in this missive to enhance dramatic effect without diminishing the meaning in any way.

Re: City Maps?
Personaly i have always detested the Map Idea, there was always a beutiful feeling of excitment that hit your cheast as you run away from danger to find yourself cornerd. The sweet smell of intrigue as you stumble about looking for the darned Npc's of a quest or the bank, or merchant.
there is to much to miss when you just look in a corner and and never see in game.
