Mobs dots (1,2,3,4 etc) and reletive hardness
I was pondering the other night as i stood outside the lyceum,on the quest 'tainted knowledge', two things.
1. Exactly how much harder than a 2 dot lv 15 is a 4 dot lv 15. 2. As there were 7 lv15 4 dot mobs guardsing the entrance, why didn't my quest say (group) or more importantly (bloody huge group with M1 Abrahms). Going back to point 1 though. How exactly do the mobs compare. Take for example some level 10 mob, how would its dot varieties compare. How much harder to kill and how much more damaging is the 2 dot vs the 1 dot. If they were ranked on a scale where the 'true' level is the one dot version of any mob would the 2 dot version be one level higher, 2 levels higher or what? e.g. true level=====dot level 10==========10. 11==========11. 12==========12. 10.. 13==========13. 11.. 14==========14. 12.. 10... just as an example....is it a linear scale or is it exponential in that a 4 dot is not twice as good as a 2 dot but many many times better (as seems to be the case)?

Re: Mobs dots (1,2,3,4 etc) and reletive hardness
I find the dot's quite misleading. Was in a group the other day, and we were taking on 6-8 4 dot mobs at a time. Granted it was an excellent group...but still was quite easy.
Then again, I've been absolutely destroyed trying to solo some 2 dot mobs. Doesn't really make alot of sense.

Re: Mobs dots (1,2,3,4 etc) and reletive hardness
They said back in beta that the dot system isn't an absolute ranking. One level 15 2-dot will not be the same as a different critter who also happens to be level 15 2-dot. Similarly, some 3-dots I can solo very easily with some of my chars, and some I can't (also depending on the char).
Me, I liked the old Asheron's Call system. Levels meant pretty much nothing, so you ogled their stats if you could, tried them on for size, and realised they were too tough for you if you woke up at the lifestone with a long run back to your corpse. None of this dot crap in my day! Uphill! In the snow! Barefoot! ![]() On a more serious note, it does allow for a neater separation of group/small group/solo content, I guess. Or neater labelling of such, anyway.

Re: Mobs dots (1,2,3,4 etc) and reletive hardness
It seems to be quite random. As a DK I can solo most 3 dots and end up with about 25% health. 4 dots on the other hand, and they four-shot me with no chance of survival.
