basically.. a few crafter posted their accounts were suspended.. another person posted this little gem as to the reason why...


i'm an outfitter... i make bags... i've made well over a gold or two doing this.

wum is a diplo expert... he gets tons of clothing and sells it on the broker... he's made more then a few gold himself.

guess we shouldn't even try?

i am all for banning gold farmers/sellers! but before they ban an account they should look for more than just how much money they have... like say adventure level, quests, deaths exploring(boy i have more than a few).. something that would make the aqverage player look different from them.

This is the beginning stages of Sigil learning how to recognize and police gold merchants within VG. I am sure that, as time goes by, they will learn to recognize legitimate crafter/loot sellers from those who have gotten their gold through other means.

I remember the first time SOE brought the hammer down in EQ2, it wasn't pretty (they traced bought gold through accounts that sold items to the gold buyers and shut them all down) -- they learned better, so will Sigil.

I don't understand why they couldn't investigate without suspending the account.

This is one of those things that just isn't public knowledge. It would be that it is true and for that I do feel bad for those people that are being investigated. But on the opposite side, how do we truely know they aren't doing anything wrong? How do we know they weren't caught doing something wrong and crying about it.

The point is we do not know, the only people that will know are sigil and The players.

I have every faith that sigil will be fair. If it was a mistake, they will most likely correct it.

LOL, ok that was hularious. I did read through all the posts on the SOE site. There are a handful of people that got there accounts banned. (though most of them have posted a dozen times so it looks like more).

One of the people complaining has a link to a gold selling site in there profile.

I believe you should ummm.... investigate first and suspend for review second. Often there are good reasons and unless they give you a HOTLINE number where you can call them to discuss this at ANY hour and wait no more than 10 mins to get through on hold (my last call at 7PM EST was 49 mins before they put a human on) this is unacceptable. Why should an honest player suffer for the rats? I hope they get 6months free for their impugnation (no clue if that is a word) and playtime (remember this is an addiction for many of us ! ;P) prevented.

I don't know the quantities involved, nor which character it is 'holding' the cash. It may very well be some guild fund - no real info given in the original post

Now, if they had 800g... ok, well...that would make me be more lenient towards their action pending investigation...but...where do you draw that line? <1 month in = 200g or more? 300g? 75g? (I think that is inconcievable for me but not for a guild who pools cash - we don't...we are more of a 'buddy guild' of ppl meeting in game and grouping together, a 'confederation' if you will - same as we were in EQ1.)

If they feel ok giving out info once this issue is solved and Sigil clears their account as OK again, it may be interesting to see wtf numbers upset them. Or...it may be better for her never to say so that the real goldfarming a55wipes will be caught and prevent harm to our server.

I have before requested some professionalism from Sigil, and to allow this... just show that they are a bunch of "noobs" in the ways of running a business..
