Sadly..
I like the game alot but my guild has already left the game after 2 weeks because of the bugs, the main one is the server boundry pauses which disbands the group and sometimes leaves people invisible or worse kicked to desktop. (thought this was meant to be fixed?)
I think some will just get their free month and leave because of the bugs. I know Sigil are doing their best and i appreciate it but its just not playable for me at least. So sadly I'm already leaving the game. I hope in 6 months its all rosey and better so until that time i leave you all. Raz |

Re: Sadly..
If you dont have patients (sp?) for things to get fixed then you shouldn't be playing the game. The games two weeks old. Its not going to be a flawless game. Give it time, those bug yet annoying sometimes. Arn't worth quiting the game for..... but that just me, do what floats your boat.

Re: Sadly..
I'll agree that some of the basics need to be fixed... I don't really understand how this thing could have been in beta for years, with these types of basic errors extant.
However, to me, the good points WAY over shadow the bad. Where else you gonna go and have this much fun?? |

And if you think about it, when you purchase other things in life do you simply accept the fact when it breaks or doesnt work?.. Would you be happy with a new mobile phone that doesnt work properly?.. what about your internet connection? if you were constantly getting cut off and getting bad service would you be satisfied with "sorry but this company is only a few weeks old" ??.. Of course you wouldnt... people are quite sensible and right to not accept it.. in fact its the people who grin and bare it who are in the wrong really. Ive been playing since the pre-release, ive gained rather a large amount of valuble armor and items.. which have all just disapeared!... alot of people are saying that when this has happened the GM's have been unable to retreive that stuff. Do you think I should just bare it?... I would be a fool to continue playing knowing that there is a very real possability that all that effort would be for nothing!.. And should I reccomend other players to play it knowing that they also might suffer the same end.. no. Well done OP, its the correct decision for the time being, maybe we will see you in the future! |

Re: Sadly..
It's the right decision for him, yes. That doesn't mean we should all do the same. What bothers Bob doesn't necessarily bother me (the group bug, for instance, since I hardly ever group), and vice versa.
One's tolerance of bugs and stuff that doesn't work quite right in a game can vary greatly from person to person - in my case, it can vary from month to month depending on how frustrated I am by other stuff. Sometimes my bug meter just hits the red zone and I have to back off for a while (happened in beta). In any case, OP, if you feel you like the basic concepts of the game but can't bear the issues we have at the moment, stop for a bit and come back 6 months or a year down the line, and you should have a much less frustrating time of it.

It's likely many of the bugs are the result of post-release patches and added content and tweaks. EQ has always been like that, they make a change, addition or whatever that breaks 5 other things. To an extent, that's the nature of an MMORPG. But I expect things to be much improved over the next 3-6 months. And the game is fun enough to play now |

Re: Sadly..
I'm always amazed as this genre of games is the only one where its "okay" to be buggy and unfinished as far as the product goes. It was like this with Shadowbane. The concepts were amazing, but the bugs from Day 1 were grievous and gamebreaking. People put up with it for months in hope that the developers would hear their pleas and get their acts together. I was one of them, hanging on to the game that I wanted it to be, ignoring what it actually was in hopes it would get fixed.
That's what's happening to Vanguard right now with a lot of the playerbase. I'm in no way trying to convince people to leave or anything. But currently the bugs are massive and inhibiting. A lot of people are just barely hanging on in hopes that Vanguard will indeed become the game it promises to be. If it isn't fixed, however, Vanguard will not work in the long run. Certain bugs, especially grouping and combat bugs (Which is essentially the core of the game), are having a huge effect. I'm finding it literally impossible to start a group and make a pass through a dungeon in anything under four or five hours time. Between constant crashing for the majority of players, ressurection spells putting players on the top of the landscape above the dungeon, summoning spells dropping players through the world and then planting them 7km away, unlootable loot (usually rares and higher), dissapearing and warping mobs, heals randomly ceasing to affect their target, defensive targets resisting Rescues, and even more crashing, forming a dungeon group is a suicidal notion that will only end in hours wasted. Anyone who thinks there aren't any problems or that those problems are excusable is fooling themselves. I'm like a lot of people out there now, I'm holding on for now, but if there's no sign that these problems are being worked on then I don't know how long I'll endure. I believe Sigil can do it, and we can only pray they do before the majority leaves.
