Re: Sadly..
As for why Vangaurd has more bugs than other games is very simple. Everyone that was in Beta knows the reason and many that were covering the fourms know. It's very simple, Sony forced Sigil to launch the game 3 to 6 months before Sigil was ready for this game to go live. Sigil tryed to fight it but Sony wanted to make it go live and because they are now the money people Sigil was forced to do this or see their 5 years go down the tubes.
As for your comment yes Rithrin your right it is a ligitimate reason but the thing is it is the first few weeks of launch. You compare it to many other games that had a much smother launch than Vangaurd, well thats great but as someone else pointed out thoes were not Vangaurd. Vangaurd is using a much newer platform than thoes other games did so it is bound to have a few more issues than thoes games. I started playing EQ1 the first week of launch. If anyone here was there at the time you problably remember the first three weeks of EQ. You couldn't log on 90% of the time. There was no way for you to know if your connection had been droped or if you were still in the que waiting to get in. They changed that nearly four weeks after so that you knew if you were dumped and needed to get back in or continue waiting. There were more bugs in the launch of EQ than I have seen in Vangaurd at this time. Im not saying it deffently has less than EQ did because I have not had many other than the crash to desk top but I have personly seen less. |

The 2 in EQ tells you something. It was the 2nd version of the game. I'm no fanboy and it fairly annoys me when there are bugs in a game but I've been playing online since 2000 now and have lived through the start of 3 MMOs now and this is no different really. |

I also wonder where everyone is hearing this "Sony made them release it early" stuff. I've not seen that posted by anyone in the know. It's just as likely that Sigil ran out of money. Quote:
I'm not condemning anyone - I'm just as bad. I continue to play (and pay) launches.

Re: Sadly..
I was there at WoW's launch. And I did say "main" problem. Its not like one out of every ten quests was bugged, spells would randomly stop working, or whatever. The majority in WoW could log on and level/craft/whatever like normal, the main issue was actually making it onto the server and having it stay up long enough to do anything. Gameplay was all in tact however.
But, uh, this thread isn't about WoW. I assume you'll probably disagree with me about Vanguard having bugs, too.

Haha, yeah the engine runs, but we cant seem to keep the tires on. I don't disagree that all MMOs are buggy when released. I do disagree with statements like WoW wasn't as bad. It's just not true. Time heals all wounds, people forget how bad it actually was. I would wager that the majority of the people in Vanguard are able to level and craft and diplo to their hearts content. Servers have not been an issue. Some rollback bugs *ick* and a couple of untimely patches have been the worst thing we have seen. It could have been much much worse. |

Re: Sadly..
I suppose you all are very lucky. Me and a couple guildies and a RL friend cannot even group for the local dungeon (Which we have something like 10 quests for) because group members keep falling through the world, dying spontaneously while riding an elevator, getting stuck in walls, and having key group members crash while running and die in irretrievable places. I once got ported 10km away from my group after trying to /stuck out of a wooden beam. All of these things are just group enders. And all we want to do is play the game.
But I guess we're the minority here, so it doesn't matter, right?

I've seen nothing "game breaking" and I'm having a blast. Anyone that expect no bugs, or even no major bugs really fooled themselves. Also I would like to know how many of you Beta tested, and of those of you who did, how many /bug did you report with great detail? I have a feeling more things were left till retail because alot of people were "playing free" instead of "beta testing". </rant> Oh and to copy Fyrestrom, can I have your stuff?
