Haha, this thread with the complaints about downtime brings to mind the EQ forums during patches. It makes sense to take the servers down when it affects the least amount of players. And the timing is inconveniacing Sigil/Sony people who are on west coasttime. They do this in the wee hours of the morning, not during regular business hours.

And from years with EQ and their forums, no matter what/when they patch, people will complain. Ya can't win

Not if you live in Europe. You know that big blob of land to the east before russia and china.
But it was quick and swift and didn't take more than an hour so all was good

If you read the rest of his post, he was talking about the Sigil-SOE employees patching in the wee hours. The California ones that is, though Amsterdam would have been covered by your statement

which was exactly what I meant. The wee hours for US peeps isn't the wee hours in Europe, thus bigger chance of peeps beeing on playing. I mean the diff between est and cet is 6 or 7 hours. ^^
