just my opnion here guys.. and i could be way off base.. but this is the way i read it and from my "billing" experiences last night and from other games. i swear these are worded to be confusing.

30 days subscription to that things that cost $.99 (totaling $2.99) you get free for a month that is the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Station Players. it doesn't say GAME, just station players...

you have to have a NEW aka brand new account for the 30 day subscription in the yellow box..."excludes existing van and station access accounts"

additional subscription fees apply.... ahh those hidden ones "no they're not they were listed on the box etc!"

basically from what i am seeing... you don't get an actually free 30 days IN the game... just the station access/players stuff. i didn't like the fact we had to agree to pay (we only put in one month for each of us on the CC) in the billing area right off the bat.. which definately gives that impression.. other games with the free month ask for you billing info(prefectly normal in this day and age), but not for a subscription.

Ok to clarify.

Like most online games nowadays, when you purchase your game, you get 30 days of free play (ie first month free) no matter which edition you buy.

The 30 days free is for new accounts, as you've said. If you already have a Vanguard account, ie down the line and you get another box for some reason (some people 2 box), you cannot apply the free 30 days in game to your other older account. It is only for your new account. Also, for those with Station Access, you don't get 30 free days, but your Vanguard subscription is included with your once a month Station Access ($24.99) fee.

The CE includes 3 month subscription to Station Players (the usually $2.99/month features), while the regular edition comes with 30 days of this service for free.

it's what i thought.. but i know there has been some confusion. especially with beta/pre-release/retail. none of which is very clear anywhere i have looked.

There has seemed to be a lot of confusion over this. As stated above nearly every MMORPG has included a 30 day subscription.

I added my retail key last night and set up my billing info. My credit card will be charged for the first time on March 1st. So, there definitely is the standard 30 days included with the price of the game.
