Patch Incoming!
Patch – 3AM PST 1/31/2007

I think this makes #1 for interesting launches in video games. 3 days before "live"' the pre-orders get in. Boxes are available about a full day ahead of "up time" giving everyone the chance to register, install and patch.
So far, so good..... Tons of people log in on "live" day. They start playing, create their chars, its groovy. Then the server comes down "really quick" .......... Now people are not able to get on, the chars they were playing before with their station accounts activated are told that they dont have a subscription...... They cannot log into the station site to double check their accounts to see that VG registered when they put in their keys. They "can" check station players and see the stuff that may or may not be accurate, no one knows how much of today will be lost from those that played. This is not par for the course for SOE, this one takes the cake. All in all I am just happy that I pre-ordered so i could play for the first 3 days. Any consequent downtime and zerg of fresh bodies to lag the place out, I will just be happy I actually pre-ordered this time. |

I just wonder why $OE couldn't work on their pre-order subscription screw-up while the they took the game down for patching. Or why they didn't fix this in the morning yesterday or something...
