Re: Your first day impressions
I was amazed at how many people went straight for diplomacy. There was a huge group around the diplo trainer in Tursh... very cool that it has that much appeal. I haven't tried it yet, having too much fun adventuring
![]() I had to run all the way down to Three Rivers to get a quiver, which I found annoying. If there is a ranged vendor in Tursh I couldn't find it. Glad I knew where to go from beta. I actually avoided the glut at the newbie quests by going harvesting very soon after beginning the game. An hour or so of that and the worst of the crowding had blown by. Thought it was funny, happened to run by the cemetary where Tursh humans start about 3 or 4pm PST, and there was 1 person there fighting... talk about a change from the morning! All in all I was surprised how much more stable things were from beta. I haven't seen a single server crash, and client only crashed once. Was also surprised how many quests were active that weren't there in beta. Great job Sigil! |

Re: Your first day impressions
Definitely enjoying it. Played my ranger up to level 7 last night. Played til about 4 or 5 am after I got home from work. Could barely keep my eyes open by then. Still some tweaking needing to be done, but definitely liking it.
Seems like they did some adjusting to the diplomacy stuff. Seems a slight bit more of a challenge. Still needs a bit more, but its one of my fav parts of the game so far. I already feel a 'connection' with this game that I never did with EQ2. I had it with SWG, but EQ2 the feeling was never there. With VG its back. Just wish the servers would come up today. Looks like we could possibly only get 2 days before launch. Bummer. |

I was up untill 4 am also. Im on the PVP FFA server and the ganking died down a lot at night. It is a serious level race on my server because it is a kill or be killed mentality. My guild mates have all just been grouping up and rolling around together to prevent gank sessions. |

Re: Your first day impressions
I'm so glad everyone had such a great start.
The servers are down for a patch at the moment or I'de be there not here checking in .So those who happen to have a great memory of the desert, where is the closest ranged weapon vendor to Khal? I thought about setting up my own store by switching between characters and mailing them to myself, or just brokering them ![]()

Re: Your first day impressions
Well I missed out on the first night since I went out with friends instead at the last minute. Came home this afternoon and I've got all my characters created (like to secure the names) and ready to go.
As always I'm impressed with how Sigil is handling things, shame some people can't understand the point in a pre-release, which is of course to polish for the final release on the 30th. Performance definately seems much better although I think the EU PVE server might need an upgrade, or perhaps a second server needs to go up since my pings today have been between 300 and 700 at times, which is worrying. All in all I'm just glad it's live and I can start playing "for real" as it were, this game has brought back memories of getting lost in DAoC, EQ and UO. One of the main selling points for me is just how big the world is and how diverse, the art direction is top notch as well.

Re: Your first day impressions
I was/am impressed with the improvements from beta to pre-release, both bug and ping wise. But the EU PVE server is getting crowded really fast with pings of 500-700ms and with a (hopefully) huge influx of EU players at launch things could get ugly
