Really disappointed with the Euro servers (Merged EU Server Thread)

Azerbaijan
etc...

So we already know the publishers have got a US-centric mindset. Every other country in the world gets listed alphabetically apart from those on the north American continent. What a narrow-minded and imperialistic view of the world.

No great surprise then that our guild has been sitting here for two and half hours waiting for the single EU server to be brought up. I'm afraid it's all too typical of most US companies; but we were really hoping that Sigil and Sony were going to demonstrate from the off that they could truly operate on a global basis.

Guess not.

So we're thinking about setting up camp on a US server as an interim for this evening. What do you think our chances of getting characters transferred from a US server to Gelenia via petition are?

I'm as Euro-centric and friendly as any other Euro (and not a huge fan of SOE, as it happens), despite where I live, but this whole imperialist industrial-gaming-complex conspiracy is sheer tosh. The reason the US and Canada are at the top of the list is because the vast majority of their customers live there. Less clicks = happy customers, and as with almost every single business in the world, the majority of the customers will get the majority of the attention and support - because that's plain business sense.

Really. If we're going to theorise, can we at least have some grand conspiracies? I liked Great Old Ones better. :-/

We're working as hard as we can to get them up and running currently. We understand this is frustrating and thank everyone for their cooperation and patience at this time.

So why not have the list in order of customer base then? US, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, UK, whatever... besides you telling me more people in Canada play than in the EU? They've only got a population of ~32m and most of their MMO players are in the Asian market, far away from SoE's current offerings.
