Pre-order woes!

I've browsed the existing pre-order threads, and can't seem to find this problem covered yet - apologies if I've missed it.

I've pre-ordered the Collector's Edition from game.co.uk - who're supposed to be the exclusive UK supplier for accessing the game pre-launch. Yesterday I recieved my pre-order box in the post. However, nothing came in the post today... I've not actually recieved a copy of the game itself. The game goes active later today, so shouldn't I already have my copy?

Anyone else order from Game? Do you have your copy yet? If anyone knows how we're supposed to actually get into the game today, please reply.

In desperation, I tried Direct-to-Drive, but they refuse to let me buy a copy because I'm not American (which is crazy, because they sell other titles to the EU).

I did managed to make a second pre-order at Sony successfully, but the download link they supplied me doesn't work. More worryingly, they've not given me a key either... They could be waiting to the last minute to give the keys out, but if anyone could confirm this it'd put my mind at rest.

Ok, the code on the preorder box lets you get in three days early, you don't need the retail box untill a few days after the 30th. SOE will not send you out a key as they will flag the account you bought it on with access to the game. The download link should allow you to get in, but if not try Fileplanets Vanguard Beta Client which when fully patch is the live version, just be prepared for a long download.

your pre-order box should have a cd with a beta version of the client. that willl get you into the early-bird start which begins today. the actual start/release date is the 30th, so the 30th is when we will begin to be able to get our hands on a official game package.

None of my 20 odd friends who have purchased from Game.co.uk have got the game yet just the pre-order CD. The game should arrive on the 30th.

I also pre-ordered from game, after phoning them they said they had sent it out by post!, still havnt recived it.

So what I did was phone my local game store, who now have pre-order boxes in, ran down and picked one up for £1.99.

I suggest you do the same or you may miss out on the 3 day early start.

I would never buy anything from game again their service sucks.

Upon re-examining the pre-order disk, I've found the client hidden away on there but it wont install (don't know if the disks damaged or its just my computer, but I've installed the beta client before without trouble (I only wish I'd kept that installer), so I assume it's something related to the disk).

Sony, who sell it as a digital download, should actually supply a download. Having to rely on a third party isn't exactly what I had in mind.

Also, some explanations about the whole proceedure would have been nice from both companies... Good job there's such a helpful fan community to rely on. My thanks again.

Another note, if you had the beta client, you do NOT have to reinstall anything in order to play today. It will simply patch to come in line with the live version.
